A very good relaxing stay, friendly customer service from reception, valet and in room dining. A comfortable room with an excellent shower. A comprehensive mini bar and tea and coffee options.

Great and comfortable room. Unfortunately we were checked into the wrong room and had to wait half an hour to get the room we had reserved for. Normally would not be a big deal but, when travelling with a 6 month old, the wait and process of getting everything moved over to the new room is annoying. The hotel did send someone to help us with our bags, however, he was one of the grumpiest people I met during my stay and made efforts to avoid him when I saw him in the future. The breakfast package was very worth it as the breakfast buffet at the reign is excellent. Waiters are all very professional and friendly.

We always judge a hotel by the staff. We had a nice chat with the breakfast server and did not feel rushed to talk. It made us feel welcomed! The rest of the staff were equally friendly and courteous. We have already said to our friends to stay here when in town.

we booked 3 months in advance for 3 separate stays to Toronto at the Fairmont Royal York. we requested to stay in one of the previous rooms we have stayed in over the past year, with a few preferences if possible. we have been staying in your hotel since the 1970s, in fact on our many trips across this country we have continuously supported the Fairmont brand staying in all but a few. we appreciate the décor, cleanliness, quiet and panoramic views from the rooms. This past July 1 weekend the room we were booked in was on the first floor, which is not a location we would have ever asked for so we were shown another room on the 11th floor and it obviously is not used on a regular basis, as the bed and furnishings were showing a lot of wear, especially the bed which appeared to be worn out. We ended up back on the 1st floor accepting the room that had been reserved for us. I pulled back the drapes to find a view of the roof with tin fixtures and gravel and note requesting we not open the window because of bugs. Not really the luxurious experience were are accustom to at the hotel. I have to say disappointment at first and then feeling that all of the years of enjoyable stays add up to feeling like perhaps this is no longer the place for us. We understand that availability dictates options however, 3 months advance booking and only one special request that it have a bath tub I don’t think should be to hard to accommodate. to add insult to injury at our departure when the valet brought our truck up we discovered the rim hand been scored where it had rubbed against a curb or something similar. your staff came to inspect the damage but since then we have not had any contact. perhaps they think if you ignore the customer they will go away. the staff would include Vincent Ching, Valet parking manager, Nelson Ng, security services, and Troy Thomson, assistant guest services manager. I can assure you, that will not be the result in this case. We will expect contact and resolution of this matter in a timely fashion preferably before our next scheduled trip civic holiday Respectfully mr. and mrs. r.

MOST OF IT WAS VERY GOOD , BUT IN THE MORNING WE WENT FOR BREAKFAST , MY WIFE ATE & I DIDN'T BUT I DID ASK THE WAITER FOR A GLASS OF WATER .THE WAITER DID NOT BRING IT SO I WENT TO HIM & ASK AGAIN SO HE PUT HIS FINGER INSIDE THE GLASS & POURED MY WATER . PRETTY DISGUSTING AND UNPROFESSIONAL . WAS HE THINKING LESS TIP FOR HIM

We loved everything. Tracey Mossman, the main concierge while we were there was fantastic! Whatever we were looking for she had a great recommendation. Very personable, there was a dry stand in, she did not compare at all. We could see that we were not the only ones impressed by Tracey’s individualized attention. Loved her!!!!! Great location. We walked everywhere, but the hotel is very close to the tram if needed. The facility was BEAUTIFUL with good food and shopping, which there was not a lack of in surrounding areas as well. We look forward to visiting again!

« First impression should be a lot better »

Arrival porters at entrance helpful with luggage. Check in was unpleasant, thankfully we are priority so only a short wait to check in . Regular check in line was long, at least 20 people waiting on a line that wrapped around into lobby. No welcome from girl at Accor priority other than may I help you. She located our reservation in the computer & took our amex platinum for any room charges. As platinum Accor card holder we asked about the availability of courtesy upgrade of 1 category. This is normally done at every Fairmont we check in to . Ms. Zhang abruptly said , without even looking at computer, no, no upgrade hotel is sold out. This was not true as we later found out that almost 100 rooms were available. She handed the key cards & looked away. She should not be in a customer service position as reconfirmed with head of front desk (manager) . Her attitude makes you want to turn & leave the hotel quickly. First impressions are important, & other Fairmonts in Canada excel. A nice welcome is the right way to start your stay. The room was fine, the maid service efficient & pleasant. Cocktails at both lobby & library bar were enjoyable.

Renovations to the main areas within the hotel are impressive as is the hotel location. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Check in and out was seamless. We were looking for a downtown location with a gym and a pool and close to shopping and dining (the hotel scored well on all fronts). We probably spent more time in the hotel bars and amenities than l would have thought before we arrived. So a very good overall experience.

Great hotel and good location. Very sad about the renovation. You destroyed a classic lobby by removing the circular staircase and clock and erecting a bar that cut it up. It was like checking into a flight not a grand hotel. Not sure I will be back

One of the most fabulous hotels I've stayed in. Was here for my work conference, so for the conference part of my trip all I ever get to see is the convention center and the hotel, and this hotel did not disappoint! I looked forward to getting back to my room, the service was great, the rooms were clean, staff exceptional, food amazing, and the hotel was so fabulously grand. The care certainly made being in a huge metro city seem so manageable. The Library Bar was indeed one of my favorites, and your concierge's are fabulous. And beyond our stay while there, I worked with several of your team ahead of time on our group's contract and logistics, and they were completely amazing and helpful. A grand hotel indeed@ My only curious questions are regarding the front entrance for those with large suitcases as I never saw a ramp vs. the stairs, and I could never get my closet door to stay open and had to prop it with the ironing board for those mornings where I couldn't decide what to wear.

The check-in process was lovely. I was given a CN tower view room after mentioning that it was my first time there; the small gesture made my day. Absolutely loved the burger meal that I ordered and the fact that honey was prepared using what was produced from your own bee colony! Also, the LeLabo toiletries were the perfect touch and smelled amazing!
