« A beautiful hotel for a getaway stay. »

My wife and I were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary, and the hotel was the perfect place for a relaxing and beautiful short getaway. We selected an upgraded room with a view of the river. That decision was a good one--the view was spectacular, all day long.

For the price we paid for the room, the stay was not satisfying. — The room temperature control did not work. A service man arrived and pushed a few buttons but nothing changed. We were freezing for two days! — The fridge, minibar, was locked. After two visits by service-man, still locked. At the third visit, an extra fridge was installed, However empty and the minibar was still locked and ho access for the stay! — No bathrobes, only two empty hangers in the bathroom. — Breakfast in the diningroom at 10 o’clock, no ”rush-hour”, 25 minutes waiting time for a single order of ”grilled cheese”.

Very beautiful hotel, great hotel service, food was ok but not specular. I found the menu could have been a little more elaborate or more choice and the server when we ask what we should take was not very familiar with the menu. but for the rest, everything was great. also since we stayed at your hotel for dinner and breakfast I would have offer maybe a package deal to reduce the price. the room was spectacular, we got a junior suite and the receptionist was simply amazing to make this happen!

« Disappointed »

We found the room was small and dark, and not inviting. Parking is an issue, although the layout of the site makes this problematic. The meal we had on the first evening was pretty awful, my steak was virtually inedible, but my wife’s was slightly better. The creme brûlée was unpleasant. The wine was good. We tried to get a drink at the bar, but gave up as no one seemed interested in us or were too busy preparing cocktails etc. The cafe at the golf club house was very welcoming, and we had some pleasant light meals at the top enjoying the view. Played a round of golf, the layout of the course was good, but the course seemed rather worn to me particularly the teeing areas and some of the fairways, given the cost of the round.

« Did not meet our expectations. »

We have been to many Fairmont hotels in the past (Chateau Laurier, Montebello, Chateau Frontenac, Fairmont San Francisco and have never been disappointed. The Manoir is perfectly located and most of the staff are very nice. However, we had the worst experience ever at the restaurant "Table et Terroir". We mentioned it during checkout and we also called the hotel once we arrived home and spoke to the manager (Marion?) to discuss our experience. She was suppose to follow up and call us back before the weekend but she never did. Not up to par with the Fairmont reputation at all.

Nice stay with family of five. Surroundings fine views beautiful. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Dinner good. Breakfast at the hotel as well as on the golf clubhouse were OK, but not especially good. Views from the clubhouse though were stunning.

« Acceptable »

We enjoyed are stay....Supper and service at Le Charlevoix was excellent, spa on both occasions was okay, overall condition of Hotel was what we expected. Staff at reception was very pleasant. Only shortfall was the lack of staffing for afternoon drinks and snacks on terrace. Two servers simply couldn’t get it done with efficiency. Thank you for your Anniversary wishes and efforts!!

« Fabulous luxury with a retreat feel »

Upon arrival our assigned room was not properly cleaned! We were given complimentary drinks and told it would be resolved asap! After a 2 hour dinner and drinks room still not cleaned. After discussion with manager we were moved to an upgraded room with the staff being very apologetic. At this point we felt we were treated with respect in a courteous and understanding manner. This made the rest of our stay very enjoyable and will return to this location on a future adventure. THANKS TO ALL THE STAFF SINCERELY MR & MRS L.

« Ok service, not great value »

Experience at the restaurant was excellent, the rest of the stay was average at best. Room was overpriced for the state of the rooms, online checkin seemed to slow down arrival vs. speed up and directions to parking were poorly indicated. Never received benefits that I was entitled to as an Aeroplan Diamond member because the reservation site would not handle code, was not followed up on by hotel staff.

« Very poor experience, unlike past visits. »

Room was very cold on our 4:30 arrival. Reset thermostat with zero improvement. No change in temp by 7:30. Employee replaced part in HVAC. How could you rent a room in this condition?. Had requested a river view. Room had one tiny window with such a view, other windows looked down on entry & casino. Buffet dinner with meat that could not be carved. Waitress saw this & brought a sharper knife. Not Fairmonts fault, but it took us 3 hours to play 6 holes of golf. We played nine holes rather than 18. Ranger actually moved us to the other course so that we could play holes 7, 8 & 9. I have stayed at numerous Fairmont hotels i in North America & will reconsider staying at Fairmont in the future.
