Very happy with the staff and hotel , gold floor rooms are worth the extra money just for the free breakfast and snacks. Do yourself a favour and make dinner reservations elsewhere for the dinning was not the greatest and was the only reason I did not score them higher

« An anniversary staycation »

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the valet to the courteous and efficient manner of the front desk staff, our time at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald was not to disappoint. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay and anniversary one to remember. Our upgraded room with beautiful views of the river valley, a plate of treats with "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate and the early check in and late check out made our stay so wonderfully comfortable and relaxing. The sumptuous room was beyond comfortable, the Gold lounge cozy and like every part of the hotel designed to look after its guests in upscale fashion. All parts of our stay created an atmosphere of calm and pampering. My wife and I came away relaxed and all thanks to the amazing staff, hotel and its timeless elegance. Thank you, The Sammers'

Overall excellent. Beautiful room. Excellent food. The environment was very pleasant. I was a little disappointment about the quality/service of the room service delivery. We ordered a bottle of Chenet sparkling wine but didn't realize until after it was open that it was an ice wine. The menu did not specify that. Likewise, we thought the presentation of the room service was less the usual fairmont standard. For example it keep in a tacky plastic container on a tray and we had to open it ourselves. The champagne glasses also seemed very cheap.

Getting better - appears that our profile is being read- most times what is requested on our profile is hit or miss but has been improving. Hope is stays this way then we don't have to let the front desk know of the forgotten items. This time is was just a pair of slippers. The only thing that needs improvement is when using the drink voucher to be able to pick something that is the same price as the glass of wine- we don't generally drink wine and it would be nice to be able to enjoy the welcome drink that you like and not be limited to a certain selection. We have stated at other properties where you can use the value for whatever drink you like and it seems that the Hotel Mac does not allow you to do that - disappointing in that regard when other properties you get your choice - something to consider to keep your patrons coming back to use their voucher. The only other thing to consider is the welcome amenity really needs to improve - compared to Seattle,Boston, Banff, Toronto and Lake Louise they provide great items -Hotel Mac disappointing. Might be worth your while to see what they provide their guests to make improvements in your welcome amenity . The welcome amenity if not stopping in at the front desk is just a good indicator of customer appreciation.

To whom it may concern, I cannot tell you in the right words how fantastic my experience at The Hotel McDonald was last weekend. I was gifted this night to take a break from all of my real life responsibilities and just enjoy the time to do what I wanted and not go on anyone else schedule or needs. As soon as I checked in I was informed that I was chosen for the Fairmont Guest of the Day and I cannot even tell you what a surprise it was and how much it made my day. From the moment I arrived until I walked out the door the next morning I felt like I was enveloped in luxury that only a Fairmont property can provide. As a former employee of the Fairmont brand, many moons ago, the little extras that I knew to expect were absolutely there but as a tired and overwhelmed adult and parent I now appreciate the extras and genuine effort that this hotel brand, and its many employees, goes out of its way to provide.
