« Made me check out of room only to recheck me into same room »

I was staying in room 237. I was asked to check out to move to a worse room to accommodate a different guest. I asked front desk if this was necessary and they confirmed it was. Then i went through the hassle of packing all my things and came back end of day to get my new room key. They checked me back into 237. Total waste of time. Worst part is they did the same to my colleague Kevin Tapp. This isn’t the way to treat guests when you charge the premium rates you do.

First and foremost, please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience you experienced with having to switch rooms during your stay. I can completely understand what an inconvenience this would have been, and do apologize for the experience. We have followed up with the Front Desk Team and they confirmed that you had 2 bookings in 2 different room categories for your stay. When you rang in the morning we were fully committed in the King bedded room you were currently in, and had no other choice but to confirm a move was necessary to the 2 bedded room you had reserved. However, we did have a few cancellations later in the day, and so were able to honor your request for the same room. I do apologize that this news came late, and the reasons for your moving not communicated effectively, but was unfortunately out of our control. Our goal is to provide all of our guests with exceptional service, as well as to ensure their stay is a pleasant and memorable one and I am sorry that we fell short in this instance. I do hope that this unfortunate experience has not tarnished our reputation, as we look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back to The Hamilton Princess in the near future. I truly loved my stay at the Hamilton Princess in Bermuda. The room was great, the property and scenery was beautiful, and the service was great. The Gold Lounge was somewhere I spent a lot of time during my stay. I highly recommend it. What a great experience.

« Fine, But Not Luxurious By Any Means »

The hotel was fine. I stayed in an executive king room, and the view was nice, but it could have been a Marriott or Hilton and I would not have known the difference. No turn down service, no bottles of water, nothing extra in the way of bathroom amenities. Just a room. I would come back only for business in town. The spa, however, was lovely and my massage was terrific, and valet service outside was warm and welcoming.

I have been staying at the Hamilton Princess for close to 20 years, if not in Hamilton then in South Hampton when you were affiliated. My trips are usually 1 or 2 days and I am there for purposes of visiting my clients. I have Fairmont Princess status which I thought meant something. I asked why I wasnt given a room on the fairmont floor and was told I needed to ask for it. My room was OK,nothing fancy about it. I also didnt think the front desk attendants were knowledgeable.

Efficient and speedy check in and out this time, comfortable and clean room, service at bar and breakfast could possibly be a little more efficient but this is a comment from a business guest rather than someone with more relaxing stay. The second floor of the Bermudian House is not sound proof and the noise in the halls make it difficult to sleep without being awaken each night. Our water was rusty and then shut off and we had to change our plans and move rooms so we could prepare for an evening event that was the reason we were in Bermuda that week. I had to get my wife and I moved, were I would have expected the staff to made their first priority moving us.

The hotel is a sumptuous experience combining elegance with casual lifestyle of pools, bars and beach (via access by jitney). It combines an old style formality - built in the 1880s - with contemporary design and a recognition that a resort should both be fun and chic. The art work is stunning, the property’s setting is spectacular and the genuine kindness of the staff is truly exceptional. What I enjoyed most was the degree to which the concierge and front desk were so helpful and treated me both as an honored guest and as a casual friend, ensuring I was well taken of and had my needs/wants tailored to me, not a rote set of answers or standard monologue. Everyone seemed to genuinely matter as individuals to the staff.

First of all, room is not ready when we arrived. If that’s the case, why did you send us an email asking for our arrival time? Then when I asked for the room, we were stuck on the first floor with no choice. Secondly, the bathroom was dirty with dirt behind the toilet where it’s visible! Also lots of little ants crawling all over on the bathroom floor and the bath floor mat. Lastly, “bugs” crawling on the floor by my bed! I took pictures of these if you need to see them. For the price we paid, to me, it’s worse than a motel room.

I enjoyed my stay. Staff was very attentive. I appreciated prompt and pleasant response With follow ups I received from Mandy. I did get awakened by the ferry sounding horn every hour in the morning at 7 am, this caused me to wake up early when I had late nights.

Myself and friend stay at the hotel for 4 nights. The first 2 days was for business meetings and the we attended a wedding. Our phone did not work in our room causing problems with our business meeting arrangements, our contacts in Bermuda were not able to reach us in our room to arrange car service for us. and was a big inconvenience to walk down to the front desk for everything thing we needed. Only after our complaints they move us to another rooms whiles we were at our meeting on the second day. Only to come back at the end of the day to find our luggages was not even in our room. Had to complain about that to. Just was quite frustrating and disappointed on the first two days which was very Important days with Long conferences and meetings in Bermuda. Coming back to a hotel and not able to order room service because no phone . Absolutely disappointed
