Somewhat disappointed with the small room and bathroom, and the length of queues at some of the 'service points' due to the influx of 'tourists', but pleased with the general level of service.

Our trip was amazing from valet to departure. I cannot compliment the hotel experience enough. It's lovely. Professional. Accommodating. Highest level of taste, decor, service... All the way to the soap in the room. Bravo Fairmont.

The lineup to Chateau Deli was extremely long at all times as tourists who were not guests of the hotel were permitted access. There should be a separate coffee bar/snack bar for guests. It’s not an issue that there was no air conditioning in our room as I understand the reasons why, however that’s should be clearly stated when booking. Dinner with a view at Lakeview Lounge was spectacular and the service at each restaurant was excellent. The employees at the canoe shack were also fabulous.

All possible "Lake Louise Views" from your room/while dining/anywhere walking.....Fairmont service is upto mark as a +5 Star hotel. The resort can be claimed to be old only on paper as Fairmont has maintained it and also upgraded it as per time....The other services/programs for kids meet upto +5 Star resort offerings....The pinch of $$$ per night actually got settled after my stay.

Room 330 a 2 bed suite over looks the noisy kitchen extract fans which run 24/7. Had to change rooms, moved in to 448 and 446, next to the lift shafts, noisy up until around midnight when fewer lifts are taken. The rooms were grubby with food stains on the furniture. Food in Lago was disappointingly lacklustre. Breakfast buffet in Poppy was good, but had to wait for a table despite tables being empty on arrival. The chef coming to speak to my daughter about her allergies was much appreciated. Hotel feels like a tourist shopping mall, the exclusive guest area that is tucked away from the lake, is occupied by the elderly. Our 4 night stay at this noisy, expensive hotel was supposed to be the jewel of our 5 week trip to the Rockies. Unfortunately, we left a day early as we didn't enjoy the experience. Brendan Lamb looked after our complaints and to his credit, did exactly what he should have done, unfortunately, this was our 3rd Fairmont hotel on our trip and having to make complaints at the other 2, we had come to the end of our tolerance of the hotel chain.

It was part of a family trip to the Canadian Rockies that I planned for my parents, our first time to the Canadian Rockies after living in Canada for twenty something years. I wanted to book more nights at Fairmont CLL for my parents to enjoy, but my parents thought that the room rate was rather high. But after some convincing done on my part, they agreed to give it a try for one night to see how it was, and depending on the experience, we can plan longer stay visits in the near future at CLL. For these reasons, I really wanted everything to be near perfection for my parents. I left a special request note in my reservation explaining this situation, and asked if there was anything that can be done to make the stay a little more special and memorable for my parents (so that I can entice them to return), for any of those things to be done. I don't think anything was done on that front, Also, I asked to be in the chateau part of the hotel, in part to have a nicer lake view. Instead, although a lakeview room, our room was further from the lake, in the Mont Temple wing, which to my knowledge, is a new wing added in 2004 and not part of the original chateau structure. My parents were happy about it because they didn't know the background of my request (and I certainly did not want to dampen their experience by telling them about it), but for me, it was somewhat disappointing. I really wanted to make the stay something special for my parents, so I was disappointed that when you were not able to accommodate my request, I wasn't even notified about it. At least notify me that it wouldn't be possible, or ask me to upgrade by paying more (if it's a matter of needing to pay more) to stay in the Painter, Barrott or Glacier wings versus the Mont Temple wing. Arrival We were scheduled to arrive a hour or so before check-in time. I was pleasantly surprised that our room was ready when we arrived. We were already prepared to wait around until check in time. It was really nice to be able to freshen up and rest a bit in the hotel room upon arriving. And of course, I was disappointed that our room was not in the ideal wing. The room itself was very nice. My parents were pleased, and even started to plan out when we would return next. The only negative thing would pertain to the bathroom toiletry. We were three people, and I have thick long hair. There wasn't enough shampoo to go around for 3 people. I would make sure to request for extra shampoo and conditioner the next time. Dining Experience: I booked with a bed & breakfast package. The breakfast was amazing. However, something damping was that when our waitress came by to ask about what drink we would like to have, only my mom was at the table. My mom told the waitress that she liked to have hot water for now, and that my dad and I would be ready to order when we get back. The waitress never came back, so we never got coffee. I tried to call her a few times, but to no avail. I also made a restaurant reservation at Fairview Bar & Restaurant ahead of time. It was a great view, but we were sat at a table which was had sunlight in our eyes, and the sun was too strong for us to enjoy it fully. Even the waiter was having trouble keeping his eye open when servicing our table. The food was delicious, but I do have a beef with the way the bill was tabulated. When we ordered, I asked for the waiter's recommendations, and he suggested that it was possible to order a combination of 3-course meal and single dishes. We ended up ordering the three course meal (Alberta Farmer's Cut 65) for my dad, and Bison Ribeye and Vulcan Lamb Rack for my mom and I. The waiter asked specifically who was having the 3-course meal and what dish, and we specified that my dad would get the 3-course meal with the Alberta Farmer's Cut. But the bill lumped the least expensive Vulcan Lamb Rack with the 3-couse meal. It's a few dollars and doesn't make a difference in the end, and I didn't want to ruin the experience, so I didn't say anything. It doesn't mean that I was happy about it. I've dined out at Fairmont restaurants in other cities before, and I almost always have a great experience. Whether intended or not, this is not something I would expect at Fairmont.

Room 225 had a foul odor of sewage. After three complaints to the front desk, maintenance used a fogging machine to mask the smell. The problem was covered up by the fogging but is still a problem that needs addressing. A special thanks to Levi Munoz for his efforts to accommodate us. There were no other rooms available and he did his best to eliminate the odor.

The room and view were beautiful, there's no denying that! My husband and I put our name in to eat at The Lakeview Restaurant and were told it would be a 20 minute wait. We grabbed drinks next door at the Fairview and realized it had been 45 mins without receiving a text. My husband went to check on our table and the hostess had forgotten about us and sat other people. We waited another 15 mins and they sat us. That wasn't a huge deal to us but then our waitress forgot our appetizer and the steak my husband ordered medium-rare came out medium well. After taking two bites he called the waitress over to show her and she asked him to cut into the middle of the steak to "prove" it being over cooked. She agreed and took the steak back so I was left eating my meal while my husband just sat. She brought out another steak and it was still over-done but we just didn't say anything. On top of it being overcooked, it had a lot of tendon in it - it was not a good cut of meat. Needless to say we were disappointed. We went and told the concierge following the meal just to let him know. We feel the restaurant should be aware. As far as we're concerned the information went no where, we never heard from anyone about it. Separately, we also went to the car port and asked them to have our car ready at 5am the following morning. We were downstairs at 5am and our car was not ready, this caused us to to be late to our destination. Our overall stay was good. We've been many places and were just disappointed with the level of care towards those staying at the hotel.

Wonderful except for our arrival where we had been bumped from our original king room res/request into a two queen room with no view. We were put on hold for a bit while the staff corrected the mistake. It was a bit annoying to have happen right off the bat. However it was corrected.
