We had a fun, relaxing time at Fairmont Kea Lani enjoying the pool, sun, and suite. We arrived early from SFO and were warmly welcomed. The staff accommodated our early check-in with a room to freshen up and relax until our suite was ready. Breakfast was our favorite meal and due to the time zone change we felt like we got to enjoy Maui to the fullest with the days seeming to last forever.

It was a good one night staycation bday celebrating. Checking was great and it was nice to meet the manager and get a welcome from him. Room was beautiful and spacious. I work for hyatt and decided to spend my bday at the kealani and it was a great choice. Even paying full price (since we’re spoiled with employee rates) it was still worth it! Bartenders at the pool were friendly, pool staff was very attentive which was impressive.

« It was subpar. I was expecting a lot better of an experience for the price paid. »

From the start it was not good. It took 40 minutes for our bags to reach our room. Only after I called were they finally delivered. We were told they would “look into” giving us something for the severely late bags but we never heard from the hotel on that issue. Secondly, our key card rarely worked on the first try. One time it completely didn’t work and I had to go back down to the front desk to get a new one. The key was not near anything such as a phone or cc that could have caused issues. It was really inconvenient. The food that was served through the convention was not good. The eggs did not seem like real eggs. I’m really sorry to say but we would not recommend your hotel to anyone due to this experience.

« Enjoyed room, especially nice bathroom, and very quiet, but overall experience nothing special. »

I guess I expected more welcome and genuine hospitality. The front desk and royal service seemed properly trained but in more than one instance artificial. Overall, there was a lack of a sincere "how can I help you" and more like "what do I have to do for you". A particular exception to this was the food wait staff in restaurants and at pool and housekeeping on Monday-Wednesday--very nice. One housekeeper on Friday to Sunday really made me feel like she was bothered to help. Enjoyed pool but villas blocked ocean from most vantage points of the property. Just did not feel like lets make this a nice place for guests and more like how much can we find a way to make one more dollar (the villas, etc.) Enjoyed other guests at pools who were friendly and thoughtful. Really nice room. But, lacked that special feeling for a resort vacation.

« Overall a nice hotel, room adequate but living area decor was drab and food was average. »

I have stayed in this hotel many times and still enjoyed it, however some quality has slipped. The food was just average and it used to be much better. We stayed in the end room (signature suite?) and expected much better decor in the room for the price. Th living room was very drab and the furniture was not comfortable at all. The bathroom and bedroom was fine and we could adjust the temperature to our liking so that was positive. The spa experience was good except it was short staffed so getting the appointment was difficult.

I can not say enough about the employees of the resort. I have a gluten free/dairy free 4 year old grand daughter. The staff went way beyond expectations to help her out. It is very appreciated. Everyone I came in contact with from the servers around the pool to the staff who cleaned the rooms, were very pleasant and helpful in any way.
