Arrive Friday, there was a steelers game, a marathon and another sports event, all the roads leading to hotel were closed. We were not notified by hotel, but the staff were super sympathetic and friendly on check in, there was a cool jazz band and we had a nice drink. Room service was good night 1. The suite for $400 a night was just as nice as the last one which was $800, and had a view of the river and PPG building, very nice room for the price. On the second day, we had funeral, bellhop and valet staff were very attentive, morning room service was quite good. Saturday evening we had guests for drinks and appetizers to our suite, the champagne took 40 minutes, and was not there when guests arrived. The meat and cheese tray took longer. Guests enjoyed the fairmont, they were given valet parking charged to our room which is quite convenient. The following day, we went to F2 the restaurant for drinks. There were ladies on the bar stocking the liquor, clanking glasses, and when we asked for a side of olives the refused to ask the kitchen, and said we could only have bar olives. The daytime menu was quite limited, so I insisted on the olives. Unsure since our second visit to hotel if itis viable to have a restrauant not owned by the hotel serving the needs of hotel guests, I mentioned the limited lunch menu and the barmaid said we could go elsewhere! So we did not book into the F2 for dinner we went out. We ordered room service salads on our last day, they were warm, had no toppings, and one of them was comprised entirely of large, very cheap grade tomatoes, and cost over $40 USD. They took over 30 minutes to arrive to room. We asked the salads be taken back or toppings brought, and the restaurant manager brought two salads as described on the menu. The room was quite nice, and convenient. It is a great facility. The staff did not replenish liquid body wash during our 4 day stay, withoutbeing asked. Also when we arrived the was no sugar or creamer for the Kurig, and the room service for coffee does not start until 7am. Overall we enjoyed the say, and will definelty return however it seemed like the hotel was not operating at its 100% best.

Our reserved suite was not ready upon our arrival at 3:30. We were then upgraded to the Presidential Suite, which was appreciated, but unnecessary. We would have preferred an on-time check-in into our specified suite.

« My go to spot when I’m in Pittsburgh »

I have been to Pittsburgh a few times over the last 2 years and whether it be for a football game, my niece’s graduation from Duquesne or any other reason, I always stay at the Fairmont. It is in the heart of downtown, close to everything and the staff and customer service is excellent. I enjoyed the restaurant, jazz in the lobby and of course my room with the amenities.

The staff at the Fairmont go way beyond what is necessary. By making sure all is taken care of, from the valet who walked me with an umbrella, and offered it to me in my car when coming back, to the bellhop who my girlfriend said I was driving up to get her, and he went into the street to make sure all was clear for her.

Nice. Thanks for the suite. A bit austere, wished there was more hospitality ie a concierge floor, fresh coffee in the lobby in the morning, NYT at my door upon rising. Peloton bikes are VERY VERY good though they are not well maintained.

« I feel that things are not as consistent under the new management. »

I typically stay at this hotel in Pittsburgh and always have a good experience. I love the bellmen and the front desk staff (Alex and Michelle in particular). This past trip (Aug 4-6) there were several misses. My room amenity was never delivered, there was no turn down the first night, no slippers or laundry bag in the room. Also don't like that you are now charging for water in the room. Seems like things are going downhill as the little things do matter.

I stayed for one night. The hotel was over booked so they kindly upgraded me to a suite. The suite was nice, but there was no water in the water bottle and drink rings on the sink. I didn’t say anything as it was a nice room overall. When I checked out, I had the bill sent to me. The room charge was $120 more than what I had booked. I called the hotel on Friday 8/2 (checked out 8/1). I was told they could see there was a change in the room amount, but a manager needed to look into it. I was told I would receive a call back that day. I finally called back on 8/6 when I had not heard from a manager. I spoke with Erick, who refused to change the rate (he couldn’t even see the rate change that the other person saw). He was not apologetic about the lack of call back and frankly came across with a major attitude. I called American Express travel to complain and they were able to get him to change the rate. Frankly, I don’t know if I would return to the hotel.
