« It was a pleasure to stay at Fairmont Vancouver on our recent stopover. »

We enjoyed two nights, one at YVR Fairmont and another at 900 West Georgia each a short stay amongst our busy travels. As usual, the facilities were immaculate and very welcomed.

« Fabulous stay - very much more then expected, staff & amenities first rate! »

Had not stayed on the Gold Floor since the remodeling & I was very impressed. The thing that was even more impressive is the staff - Uvi, Uki, Zuki, Melloni, Wilson & all the staff are reason enough to return. Wilson even went the distance to find cider vinegar for my morning dose and even found a spare hdmi cable for computer use of 1403’s large screen, as I had packed the wrong cable. The service staff is truly memorable. The only downside, and it is small - was the rooms thermostat (it was nonfunctional) & running ac (a bit chilly). Maintenance cleared the ac running, but there was no adjustment to room temp. Also the lobby duty dogs can no longer be taken for walks & the Notch8 lounge piano is now resting by the elevators on 15 (which the 15th floor redo is very well done & welcome). I do miss the Queen’s picture & access to the Sun room to view the fireworks at English Bay on 14. All said the “old girl” is looking fine and will have many new friends to welcome.

Room was very beautiful but improperly cleaned (there were open packages of cotton swabs, used tea bags in the kettle). Had to sign up for a membership that is really hard to cancel for free WiFi, and when we pointed this out that this process wasn’t clearly communicated at the front desk, they wanted to call out a specific employee instead of just recognizing that signing up for a membership program for free WiFi is kind of tacky at a luxury hotel.

My partner and I enjoyed the Fairmont immensely. The front desk was lovely; as a member of the AccorHotel Club (sp? I stay in Fairmonts and Novotels regularly for work travel), we appreciated the complimentary wifi and extras. YOUR ROBES ARE AMAZING. I also really loved the slippers and umbrella--travelling across the country, from a different climate...having those helped me a)pack lighter, and b) be ready for whatever nature tossed at us! We got room service one evening, and it was just what we needed to fuel us after a long flight to set us up for a good sleep and the busy next few days!

Very much enjoyed another stay at the Fairmont Vancouver. Had a very spacious room with king bed that was very comfortable. Room 1119 is large but one small window - so little natural light. bathroom is renovated but small. Staff are always friendly and courteous. Check in and check out were long waits. Only two people manning the reception area despite 6 computer stations. I enjoy one particular breakfast item at their restaurant that was not available for room service. The hostess was happy to order it for me and I took it to go. Great service.

« A/C was broken »

We were celebrating a special event and room 357’s A/C was broken. A technician tried to fix it but he couldn’t so the hotel provided a fan instead. Pretty underwhelming. Not sure how the system works (I assume there’s sensors in the minibar because we moved a few items to check them out), but the hotel tried to charge us four items (wine, water, etc) without even checking whether they were actually taken or not. I contacted the hotel’s GM after the stay and he didn’t even acknowledge the email. No reply back. Little things like complimentary water (at least for the first night) would have been nice. Other hotels like the Hyatt, Sheraton or Hilton seem to do a better job at it.

Enjoyed Hotel immensely but was very disappointed in the breakfast and associated service to wait 10 mins to be seated when there were at least six tables in view vacant was frustrating. Breakfast itself substandard Buffet food cold and uninviting dissapointing in such a stunning Hotel

« It was quite good except for a couple of exceptions. »

There was a smoker who was stinking up the hallway by smoking in his room. It was investigated and solved but the odor lingered. In addition and unrelated, the beds creaked when you got on them.
