I greatly enjoyed my most recent stay, and was pleased to receive a room upgrade (as a frequent guest in the hotel this year, it is nice when this is recognised). The suite however was not of a high standard - the condition of the furnishings was poor, and I would have been deeply dissatisfied had I paid for this room. The in-room dining is below-average, I ordered and after delivery, I then had to ring to complain about my dish, which was replaced. The TVs stopped working, the maintenance staff arrived quickly though and solved the issue. There is plenty of water provided, but inadequate coffee for the machine, and the refilling of the amenities is not consistent. The breakfast service depends on the day you attend, on the Sunday the tables weren't cleared regularly, although there are always staff members present who can understand English (as a regional hotel in China I do feel there is enough staff with enough language ability to make communication for non-Chinese speakers possible). On Monday however I was able to get through quickly and to my satisfaction. It is however the quality of the staff that make the trip - I can put up with issues if I know that the staff are willing to try and help the guest, and actually do work to try to rectify situations and comply with requests. The staff at Fairmont Chengdu are a real asset - in a previous trip accompanying me to the hospital with my son, this time helping me to track down a store selling a local snack I had been asked to bring back. You can always get the help you need, and that help is always given well, without grudging the request. As I said, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, as I know that if I have an issue (and there is usually something), that I can speak with caring and responsive staff who will do as much as they can to assist me.

I stay at the Fairmont Chengdu quite frequently on 2-3 day business trips. As usual, the service and accommodations were outstanding. The concierge desk is very helpful as always - Jasmine, Jessica, and Hunter - and the staff in the Gold Lounge made me feel very welcome - Eiffer, Claire, and Candy. The gym is nice and well maintained, always easy to get in a morning run on the treadmill.

This trip I was supposed to stay at Waldorf but as soon as I arrived in Chengdu I have changed my mind and decided to stay back in Fairmont where I had a wonderful experience when I was in Chengdu last December. From the moment I arrived at the hotel I knew that my decision was right. The staffs were welcoming and shown full respect to me like I'm part of their family. Special thank you to Caroline , a lovely girl who helped a lot during my stay. Lawrence, who I guess is the manager of the lobby he is so considerate and efficient. And James, a young boy who is showing positive energy and passion of his job. I could see that the front desk is obviously well trained and this is always the main reason for me to choose Fairmont as my priority hotel in Chengdu. The hotel itself is beautiful and the room is luxurious and spacious for Chengdu. I like the breakfast and gym as well. It is a pity that I missed the trail opening of the Manhattan bar. Overall I'm very satisfy of my stay at Fairmont and again I will definitely come back again. Thanks to all.

Overall very good. Our son hurt himself on the furniture in the room, requiring stitches, Joe Wang was able to provide invaluable assistance, getting us to the medical centre and even getting chocolate to take his mind off the pain.

Quite a nice hotel with beautiful bedroom and upscale facilities. Very satisfied and will definitely stay here again next time in Chengdu. The only thing I was wondering about is that I booked 2 rooms (2 persons in each room) and only received welcome drink voucher for 2 persons? It was not a big deal but in the past I’ve always received 1 voucher for each guest?

We arrived the hotel in the afternoon, James and Luke from the front office greeted us. Once they found out that our flight was at 6:30PM, they granted us later checkout time to a great extend, free of charge. I would recommend this hotel 10 out of 10. Nice facility, great staff and good location! Loved the stay!
