We usually stay at the Airport prior to morning flights but decided to stay here for a change. What a great change it was. Lovely rooms, beautiful meal in the restaurant, great staff, superb service. We will certainly be back again.

I was stayed at room #520 last week with uncomfortable noises from fan. Whenever the fan is turned on, the noises on the ceiling is loud, luckily that it was during cold weather which don't need air con on otherwise have to deal with fan noises all night long. Other issue is limited car parking where myself / other guests are not able to park inside the building and had to park on the street, even far end of the street. If you can resolve this parking issue then would be better for people who have hired car and can park securely overnight.

Great stay thank you, your hotel more then accommodated myself and my family they will definitely stay again, we all were made to feel very welcome and rooms were great. Only gripe was paying $28 a glass when I thought it was $17 as on the menu didn’t realise there was a larger size so that was a shock on the bill.

I would rate my room highly and give it a 10. The room was very spacious with nice touches. Most importantly, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I also liked the fact that the hotel stayed true to its environmental contribution. In most of the hotels I've stayed at, I hang my towel (properly and on the designated place) after use so that I can re-use it as opposed to getting a new one everyday and it still gets replaced. At The Sebel they left it and didn't replace until I asked for one which I think is good. However I couldn't rate my overall stay highly. I think my 3 night stay would have been perfect if it wasn't for the restaurant staff. I had the buffet breakfast on my first morning which was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful too. However on my second morning I was running late for my appointment so I asked the restaurant staff if I could pay the full buffet price but instead get two croissants and an apple for takeaway. She asked her manager first which was okay. Aftwards she said it was okay and would get me a takeaway container. I told her it wasn't necesary because I only wanted to take an apple and two croissants and I can just put it on a napkin to eat while waiting for the cab. She insisted on getting me a container. I thought oh that's nice. She came back with a tiny container and when she handed it to me she said 'My manager said if you could please remember to take food minimally'. I felt very much offended. It's not like I ate at the buffet and requested for a takeaway container after having my fill. I didn't have anything from the buffet. The breakfast menu does not offer just the or just an apple so I instead paid for the full buffet to avail of these three items. I asked permission first and made it very clear that I was only after two croissants and an apple. To be told to take food minimally was offensive. Maybe the staff should also consider the size of the takeaway container which was one tiny box. How much can one person even fit there??? I got really annoyed and didn't have breakfast there the following day. The location is quite close to the mall and some restaurants but a bit difficult to get to on foot if coming from the train station.

I say almost exclusively at the Sebal Manakau every time I’m in Auckland (which I travel a lot too). The hotel is nice and new and really close to our head office, but the main reason I stay is the service you receive from the excellent staff. They are always friendly and welcoming, nothing is a problem and they always make your feel valued.

While organising this small conference, Shaun had been very good to deal with and made this part of the process very easy. When the 7 of us arrived in on the Monday evening and could not be seated for dinner in the restaurant for a good hour. Dinner food was good but service was slow. The next day we were to have our meeting and was told it was on the fourth floor, that morning we were given only 2 swipe cards to get 7 people from all around the hotel to the 4th floor to the Board Room which was a tiny room set up for 6 pax not 8 like originally requested, I then had to go back down to reception to explain that the room was not suitable, now making the meeting start late, we were informed that we our meeting was actually set up just out from the restaurant and this worked well except that the double doors kept blowing open so at one stage we were locked in this room, no dramas but if we did need to evacuate for some reason there was no other way out for us. As our timelines for our meeting were tight, I had pre organised lunch so they knew it was for 1230pm and i had already given them our order (days in advance), our lunch then turned up a good half an hour late, causing people to hurry their lunch to leave to go back to the airport. Super frustrating as i felt personally responsible for the smooth running of this meeting with my team and was let down by your team on the day. Your team has absolutely no autonomy! Regardless of it was bar staff, wait staff or reception/front of house staff they were all just as useless. I must have had your staff say to me, on numerous occasions (over the 1.5 days that I was there) A: it wont be long now! and B: “I will have to ask my manager”. Empower your people or employ more capable people!! The staff were all very friendly just useless. The rooms themselves were nice, comfy beds and wonderful showers! Sorry for the rant but would hate for others to have the same experience that we had.
