Regular customer. This was maybe my 20th stay in Majapahit. The employee greeted me like a family and serve me well. I am not a morning person and they have provided me with the utmost convenient of morning call by banging at my door to ensure I woke up on time to catch my morning flight!

The only negative about our stay at the Majapahit was that we could not stay longer because of our own schedule. The position and architecture of the hotel was superb and the staff were really great.

This hotel got everything we needed in a short holiday. A peaceful feeling, a comfort bed, spacious room, luxurious bathroom, and complete facilities from spa to swimming pool. We stay here with a baby and they also provide a baby crib for our baby :) Maybe the only thing this hotel needs to improve is the Electric Socket. It was difficult to plug in when we wanted to charge our phone or use the kettle :( This Hotel also has been my family favorite hotel since I was a teen. Thank you for a great experience :)

Majapahit Hotel is such a historical building, it is more than a hotel but a living museum. The hotel is so well kept given it is more than 150 years old and coupled with the friendly service, it is a great experience staying there.

ALl the staff from gardeners, to housekeeping, reception staff, doormen, and restaurant personnel were friendly, welcoming, and provided courteous and prompt service, they are all obviously well trained by the management team. Breakfast, and evening meals in the restaurant were very good. The heritage suite we stayed in was tastefully decorated in keeping with the historic period of the hotel, very roomy and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the hotel. As keen Gardeners, we especially enjoyed the beautifully maintained tropical gardens, and huge old trees and lovely corners and courtyards, they are a credit to the gardening team. The hotel provided us with a welcome oasis from the hectic traffic of Surabaya after each day's sightseeing and staying here was the highlight of our stay. We will definitely recommend The Majapahit as the place to stay in Surabaya.

« Pretty.. missing the convenience for locals »

The first impression was great. The design, the welcome drink & chocolates was excellent. Check-in quite smooth. It's very instagram worthy. It's just that, as Indonesian, I found this place to be more cater for foreigner. The power socket, the greetings, the way things are handled, it reminds me more of European style. Like the Indonesia part of this hotel is missing somehow. Breakfast was good, for a five star hotel the variation and quality is nothing to brag about though. Maybe someone from management could find inspiration from breakfast spread in Marriot Yogya. I put my leftover plate from room service dinner outside my room and until I went to breakfast and back, that miserable plate is still there. In the morning I found people taking pictures in the ground floor and its obvious they are not guest. Make me question the security when people can wander around the establishment freely. Overall a pretty place for taking pictures and the staff are super nice, but for a five star convenience, nope I'm not coming back.

Room as amenities were great. What could be improved: - key card has to be done 3 times to be able to enter the room. Manager has to be called after 1 failed attempts (training could be more customers oriented, efficient) it would have avoid to me to come back 3 times in a row to the reception desk) - food standard could be better for western dish as local side is great but expect more from this kind of establishment for western food. - staff friendliness for some of them (breakfast team for example) could be improved. Overall great spot but you expect a bit more when you come to an Accor establishment of this standing regarding to team interaction and customer focus.
