« Enjoyble but could have been better »

The hotel was splendid, and the overall facilities were great, but my check in experience was horrible, the staff had issues in the reservation setup between Accor Le Club and the hotel itself, and I had to wait for 1.5 hours to get my rooms, but they made it up to me by giving me a very late check out when I requested it. Another thing the hotel should invest in is communication skills, in general all reception staff can speak English, but other than that, it is almost impossible to find any English speaking staff. And because the hotel is huge, a map or help from staff is a mandate, the only ones available were in Russian & Turkish, and with no English speaking staff, getting to our rooms in the first night was mission impossible.

« Good hotel, could be better. »

This is our second holiday in Turkey but we stayed in a different hotel last time. Have to say we prefer the hotel we stayed in before as it worked for our family much better and the service not comparable. That’s probably why we weren’t as impressed with Rixos. Rixos Sungate is a decent hotel, beautiful grounds and the pools are good. We had issue with timing with their food service as there is totally no access to food between 11am-12.30pm, which is usually the time we’re ready for late breakfast, having woken up usually 10.30am in the morning. They didn’t have food in the evening either (was it 9.30-11pm), so we didn’t get to eat anything when we checked in. The buffet was fantastic though. Service isn’t up to scratch, we had to call reception 3x to follow up our request for extra towel (there were only 3 towels for a family room of 4!) and soft pillow as we were given a hard pillow. This took over an hour. The following day, there were only 3 towels again after the room cleaning. The next day after that, our room wasn’t cleaned at all! Had to have a late evening room clean up. Our room was dated and toilet supplies not filled up daily. Next door had a baby crying most night and early morning and we could hear it so very loudly (must be a very thin wall?). The slides were far from the main pool where kids could swim so it is such an effort to go and you can’t mix both swimming and sliding—you have to consciously choose which activity you’re doing. There are no evening shows appropriate for our sons aged 7&11. Their Rixy Club was too childish and the Alara one too mature. We ended up playing badminton in the evenings or go to the market outside the hotel. Don’t be fooled by their offer of spa either, i was led to believe you get 90minutes of foam turkish bath, full body massage plus facial but it was all under 60, not 90. Whilst the spa was a lovely experience, i felt shortchanged. Pretty much like the whole Rixos experience.

We had a bad experience at the reception with a slim tall ELENA, who refused to share internet connection till we have a room of our own. As a result the parents of my daughters friend were in the deep state of panic as we had no contact, she was rude as well and finally place us and a girl of 15 in totally different buildings though we expressed our wish at least 4 times, luckily on Victoria’s arrival there was no ELENA but some nice Turkish man who managed to sort all out. Elena spoils the overall image of Rixos. We were in Rixos Tekirova and there the place for the evening shows is far better. Sungate should improve that area though so that there are not only paid places covered with some white towels but lots of comfy space for all the guests. Quite poor spa zone and Hamam that cannot be recognized without a sign saying that this room is actually a hammam. The sea bed is awfully rocky, you do have spend some money to clean it out. Special shoes do not protect knees and elbows. Absolutely wonderful WorldClass and decent meals. Lovely bright installations and skulled creatures all over, funny pictures. Well-done.

Staff were friendly but most of them didn’ t speak in english. Room cleaning service needs to improve. Food was poor, it needs to improve and riched with different varietes dishes. Entertainment activities should be provided in different places. Turkish bath was very small.

My family had a great time and loved the resort, the facilities and the food and drink. Our only complaint was that English was clearly a third language and many of the staff did not speak it and would therefore not engage in conversation or discussion.

« Good, but it can be great »

I have been in a lot of 5* resorts. My experience at Rixos was good, but I expected more due to its reputation. First, the main restaurant was very hot and there was no cool air. You could not eat in peace. Second, during the periods between meals, there was no snacks, food, deserts. Third, they really have to change the sun tends at the beach. They don’t protect you at all and you will definitely get sunburn. Fourth, they need to change the DJ too. Only 5-6 tracks of electronic house music have I heard repeatedly during my 7-day stay there. The staff was very polite and ready to help you with everything. They had this interior policy that you could change Rixos hotels near that area for couple of days without any extra charge, that is a big plus. Also you could visit Land of Legends for free. So my overall experience was good, satisfactory, but as I said I expected to be amazed. I was not.

We liked everything...Every part of the hotels was cleaned,which i really appreciate.Moreover the dishes were excellent and there was nothing to complain about.The staff was very kind and ready to help you,including the waiters,who always served you as fast as they could.The room service was good as well.Also,the night shows were an amazing experience.The lifeguards were kind while doing their job.I am satisfied with everything from Rixos Sungate, in this place I spend the most memorable vocations.How things were organized,the kindes of people and the good tastes of food were the key that made me like this hotel very much!!

« Wonderful holiday!!! »

We really enjoyed our stay at Rixos Sungate. It’s very relaxing, super friendly, staff were amazing!!! The territory was HUGE!!! Really loved every bit of it! The best thing for me was there were always enough free sun beds by the main pools and at the beach! And always plenty of beach towels. We never had to stress about these things which made our holiday even more enjoyable! One thing that could be improved though is the entrance to the sea from the beach. You need something to walk on from the beach into the sea, like wooden/plastic paths etc.
