Hotel in general was well maintained, the room was slightly dated and we had trouble with the room card key as it kept losing the signal we had to keep going to reception to have it re coded at least 5 times, the safe broke twice and the aircon was poor, the cleanliness of the room was poor the nets were really dirty and the room was full of dust, it needs a complete refurb. The staff had trouble speaking English although the bar staff on roller boots were very good. The entertainment at night was incredible well done for this, The shops in the hotel especially the market was extremely expensive we ran out of nappies on the last day and had to buy some they cost the equivalent of £20 Sterling for 15 nappies in England you could get 100 for the same price it’s too expensive for the English also the water sports far to expensive £400 for 2 hours on a boat this is to much for the English. The food was really good but only managed to get into 1 al la carts during our holiday as they were booked up even though when we walked past they were empty. All in All pretty good holiday but may want to look at different resorts who cater for the English to improve your hotel.

Had a lovely time, Food was plentiful and of an excellent standard. Lovely pools, great location and lively night time entertainment. Aircon in the rooms not very effective and the rooms are dated, but otherwise clean and comfortable.

Lovely hotel trying to meet everyone's needs from singles, couples , groups and families. Wide range of activities for different ages and water park was fun. Only annoying point was the lifeguards continuously blowing their whistle without giving people chance to move. Lots of choice for food but it concerned me that the cakes had nuts but no sign to warn which resulted in two episodes of nut allergy. No availability for a la carte restaurants all week (any of them). Staff work so hard especially in the food hall. Witnessed food hall supervisors being very harsh towards staff. Clean around the hotel. Intially housekeeping was good but when my little child wet the bed new sheets were not provided or bed made up. Fridge wasn't stocked for two days so had to use next doors drinks. Entertainment in evening was really good. Beach was lovely and clean with relaxed atmosphere. Loved the swings on the beach.

Hi, Thanks for a great job, it's one of the best hotels I've been so far, we are really satisfied, but I guess you are interested more in details you could improve for even better service. Everything was nice except evening shows and beverages. There is not enough space and seats for all the people in the hotel in the place where evening shows happen, many of visitors (including us with 2 children and our friends who were with us) had to stay in passages or leave the show due to bad visibility and overcrowded space. Regarding alcohol -- there are many local substitutes which are presented as the original drinks, e.g. my wife asked for pure Martini or Jagermeister and always was serviced with some low-quality local analogs, even if she insisted for the original drinks. Also maybe Aqua Park can work a bit longer (till 18 but not 17). Thanks, Oleksandr

Not a good experience. We changed 3 rooms because the first two choices were really bad, smelly and not working conditioner. It looks like that resort is made especially for russians and other communities were a bit weird in that environment. The staff hardly communicate in english. The food was the same every day.

« Not a 5 star but still a lovely complex »

The facilities are really good at this hotel, it is like being at a private village. Dinner can be very busy and it gets very hot in there. It’s a shame The Piano Bar and The Pino Restaurant were closed whilst we was there. There was only a couple of places to sit outside for a drink in the evening. The Lotus Bar was a struggle to get a seat especially if there is a live band. The Alara Soho Centre is where all the main entertainment was. We never ever managed to get a seat once in the 2 weeks we was there. We was not that bothered as majority was all aimed at The Russian clients. The Fantasy Bar was nice in the evenings. We had 3 A La Carte meals whilst we was there. They are a real struggle to get booked in for. We had Mexican, Italian and Agen. We was unable to get booked in The Chinese. Food was lovely and it was nice to have table service rather than buffet. Limited choices of food in all but staff was amazing. Very attentive and couldn’t do enough. The pools and Waterparks are kept beautiful. Staff constantly coming round serving drinks and cleaning up after people. We never had any problems with getting sun beds in the mornings either. The room we had was no way near 5 star, I would say more a 3. The room was extremely dated and the carpet had disgusting stains all over it. Bathroom had black mould in the corner of the shower. Air con worked but it was no way near strong enough. We would all wake up in the night really hot. The cleaners came in everyday but all they done was make the top sheet of the bed, change towels occasionally and put new toilet rolls in the bathroom. Nothing was cleaned the whole time we was there. Only had 2 towels for 4 of us so had to ring up a few times to ask for the correct amount of towels. We paid extra for a sea view and we could see a great big building. If you lent left on your balcony then you could see the sea. Balconies are very small and we only had 2 chairs for 4 of us so we could never all sit out there. We all had a lovely family holiday but we wouldn’t go back to Rixos Sungate.

The hotel was nice, with a lot of waterpools and activities, the sea is clear and the beach had plenty sunbeds. We liked the pool between the Terrace Houses because it was quiet and the bar was nearby. The shows were nice, but not as good as other Rixos hotels. We didn't get any information from the reception regarding the shows to be able to make a plan if we want to watch it or not. The zipline was very interesting, something you can't find anywhere else. The walk to the Pink Gorilla was also nice. The Veranda restaurant was totally closed a few times and other times we were not allowed to go in although it was during the meal schedule. After a while we could see they allowed people to go in, and then again forbidding without any reason. They were telling people that there were not free tables, which was a big lie, because we were inside and half of the restaurant was empty. The waiters didn't come to ask what we would like to drink and they started taking out the trays and pots with the food 30 minutes before closing. The bartenders used other brands of whiskey or vodka, keeping hidden the better brands. All in one, it was a nice stay.

Whilst the star rating of the hotel and the facilities was the main driver for our stay. The reality of our stay was disappointing. Great location and site, but our room wasn’t ready on arrival, the room was a good size but was not set up for our party, it was decorated badly and very dated and tired, the sink tap had been cleaned so often the crome plating had been rubbed off. The air conditioning was poor both in the room and throughout the hotel. Positively through most areas were kept clean and tidy and we didn’t see many insects or reptiles throughout our stay. Food was of a reasonable standard throughout our stay and only rude guests spoilt the dining experiences. Bars were reasonable but 7/10 times when asking for our group drinks that included intonational brands such as Jack Daniels, were made and delivered incorrectly. More poolside deliveries than cleaning meaning pots were overflowing around lunchtime periods. Water and soft drink areas always well stocked and chilled, well done! Whilst we would have liked to have a nicer lounger at the main pool we were unable to even after getting up at 06:30 on numerous occasions, a booking system for key bed locations would be better. You have many usable spaces around your complex but was dissatisfied that the main complex didn’t have 5star facilities, your sports bar and Billard area had too little staff to meet demands of the guests, we want to watch a range of UK football that was not able to be shown so left the complex to view them instead. Poor quality tables and cues, loose carpets and over our stay the piano bar was closed and blocked off causing even more demand on the sports bar staff. This also caused an issue when we had booked to attend the Aegean restaurant as the access block, so had to walk all the way around external of the hotel and arrived late. Upon leaving we were disappointed to not be offered a late check out at a reasonable price for a party of 7 including children on a 21:00 airport collection, felt the $150 I paid to be excessive.

Struggling to see why customers who are not Russian get a completely different level of service. It felt like the whole staff were scared of them and that meant they could do whatever they liked! Please treat all customers equally with dignity and respect or just only offer rooms to Russian customers

Was very good. Small recommnadation: - Pool Animation team (Is missing, and get boring vs othre resorts) - Bars not serving Alchool on the pool (Only main bar)! -it is very anoying to have only "Vitamin bar" only "Beer and Champaing bar" and only "Codee and Water bars", a.s.o - Not having CLOCK !!! (At the pools and around). If you don't take your clock with you , you don't know what is the time ?!
