« A little disappointing for a 5 star hotel »

A real mixed experience. My wife and I arrived late in the evening to stay for 1 night and we booked a late checkout for the next day due to a late flight home. Arrival and check in was excellent, the room was comfortable, spacious and clean. Shortly after we entered the room, there was a recurrent beeping noise which we could not identify. After a call to reception it turned out to be the bluetooth speaker. As we arrived late in the evening, we went to the bar and the barman made us a couple of fantastic mojitos, my wife also ordered some croquettes which promptly arrived but there were frozen in the middle. The barman was very apologetic and we did not re-order as the kitchen was about to close. After heading back to the room to sleep and turning out all of the lights, the light in the wardrobe remained on. There was no switch that I could find in the room which controlled it and after taking the room key out of the cardholder by the door, the wardrobe light extinguished but the cardholder light remained on bright green which was right in our eyes from the bed. I called reception and after following further suggestions (none of which worked), it seemed our choice was to either change rooms at 1am or live with either the wardrobe light or the green key holder light in our face. There was no offer to send somebody up to assist and given we were only staying for 1 night, we gave up and thankfully managed to sleep. The following day we went out for a few hours and upon our return, our room key did not work. We went back to reception and they reprogrammed the keys and explained that this needs to be done if on a late check out as the keys are reset on the checkout day. This was not a big problem, but would have been nice to know beforehand. Apart from that, breakfast was fantastic and the wait staff were lovely. The pool and spa was fantastic and a great place to relax.

My wife and I stayed for 8 nights from Oct. 29 to Nov. 6 checkout so I believe we had ample opportunity to experience and formulate an honest account of the hotel. Food: Breakfast included in package, all other meals eaten outside of the hotel. Service was excellent, staff was congenial and food choices were plentiful and tasty. Reception staff: Always welcomed to the hotel with smile and greeting either coming or going. Miguel was particularly helpful informing us of things happening in BA (Taxi strike and Gay Pride Parade), which enabled us to alter our plans so as not to be inconvenienced. Miguel did a great job of explaining how everything in the room worked upon check in. The concierge, Diego, daily expressed interest in our day's activities and we appreciated his candid opinion when we asked him and the suggestions he provided for shopping or eating. All staff made us feel more like friends than guests. Accommodation: Deluxe room with balcony facing the park. Very efficient use of space, plenty of storage with closets and drawers. Very quiet AC, great shower. Housekeeping: Inconsistent and needs improvement. Daily bed make up and bathroom cleanup excellent. Rug area in room was not vacuumed once during our stay. Inconsistent supply of face clothes and hand towels, tissue and water. We must not have had the same maids everyday because we would leave a request note one day and the next day we would not have the requested items when the room was made. If maids are rotated surely our requests should be passed on to the next person.

The rooms were very nice, no concerns. I ate in the restaurant four times, 3-breakfast and 1-lunch. Breakfast was fine. The lunch was problematic. There was a piece of plastic in my pasta that I almost ate. It got caught in my throat and I was able to pull it back out. My throat remains irritated from the experience. Staff did offer to replace the meal, I chose to go with a salad and was not charged. My hotel checkout was not an easy process with my only speaking English. I didn't understand the charges and still don't. My paperwork clearly states with showing my passport and paying with a non-Argentina credit card, I would not get charged the 21% (both were done). But myself and Nehat Thaqi, staying the same duration as me as we traveled together, were both charged 21%. I also have no idea what the 200 peso "Cargos" charge is from. I would like this to be addressed. From my booking paperwork - - The 21% national VAT (value-added tax) is not included in the price, and will be charged at the property upon check-out for all citizens of Argentina. Foreigners on a tourist visa are exempt from this tax. To qualify for a tax exemption, tourists must present a valid passport and pay for the services rendered with a non-Argentine credit card or via bank transfer from another country. This tax exemption does not apply for stays over 90 days. In the case of cancelled bookings, the cancellation penalties paid by the traveler will also be subject to the national VAT (21%). We have included all charges provided to us by the property. However, charges can vary, for example, based on length of stay or the room you book.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Palladio Buenos Aires, in a great location in smart Recoleta opposite the park. It's a new, very modern hotel that works for business and holiday stays, slick, spotlessly clean, very friendly and helpful staff, great facilities in the public areas and unbeatable breakfast. Tiny point of criticism - the uncomfortable, bulky tap heads seem out of place.

I celebrated my birthday in Buenos Aires for the first time and I couldn't have picked a better hotel. The staff was more than amazing. Their attention to detail was spot on. Recommendations provided by Katherine were top tier. I speak Spanish but my partner doesn't and they were able to speak English. I definitely recommend!!

We did not choose the Palladio but were offered this hotel as an alternative following recent poor reviews of the one we originally chose for our 10 night stay in Buenos Aires. We were not disappointed with the change at all. From the initial greeting and check in where we were upgraded to a suite and all the way through our stay the service was impeccable. The hotel is modern, airy and open and to some extent as they have a lot of business conventions, you could have said soul less on first impression but the staff helped to make it quite the opposite. Rooms are large and well appointed (best bathroom and most wardrobe space I've ever had in a hotel!) and kept very clean. The spa and rooftop pool and jacuzzi area was lovely - unfortunately due to the inclement weather during our stay we didn't get the opportunity to use it. The team behind the cocktail bar were great, really friendly and made a mean cosmo and blood mary. In fact all of the staff were brilliant even when there was a problem in the restaurant. As for the restaurant....the breakfast fare was lovely. Something for everyone and a choice of a la carte as well as the plentiful buffet. However, the food on the menu for lunch and dinner was disappointing. On our first day we had a chicken caesar salad and a salad nicoise. The amount of chicken was pitiful, you couldn't have made a sandwich from it, the same with the tuna on the nicoise. That was more like a potatoe salad - must have been enough potatoes to serve four! We only then chose to eat in the restaurant on two evenings - the first was okay. The second occasion we went down early (7.30pm - which in Buenos Aires is exceptionally early!) as we were being picked up to go to a show at 8.50pm. My husband ordered the soup and steak, I just ordered steak. We had to cancel the soup as it still hadn't arrived at gone 8pm and when the steaks arrived (along with the soup we had cancelled) they were rare and not medium and had to go back to the kitchen and then a third of the steak was inedible fat. Not a good experience....however the way the staff dealt with this was good and they did apologise profusely and gave us glass of wine and finally wiped the steaks from the bill. The most impressive part I must say was the following day when the sous chef sought us out at the bar and personally apologised for the issues they had had the previous night and that he was personally ensuring that this was looked into and addressed. Overall this one blip would not stop us recommending or staying again at the Palladio as it is a perfect place to base yourself for a stay in the gorgeous city of Buenos Aires!

This was the last hotel that we stayed at while traveling through Argentina and definitely the best one! Our room was very comfortable, large and beautiful with all the details that 5 stars hotel room should have. Gym is very well equipped and breakfast was really great fo Argentinian breakfast standards. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to have relaxing time in Buenos Aires.

My husband and I stayed for 9 days during a vacation to Buenos Aires (first time visitors) and it was fantastic. We stayed in a suite (room 805) with a balcony and king sized bed which was very comfortable, stylish and relaxing. Particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the staff was extremely attentive and helped us out numerous times during our visit. Special praise goes to Diego and Alejandro at the front desk; Ignazio at the bar and Elda in the restaurant.
