All in all it was good, a few things to improve and it would have been exceptional. Clean under the beds, clean the hallways and floors in the communal areas - they were filthy and looked grotty. This really let the hotel down.

We were met by two lovely people on the front desk, I loved the portable reception! Room was impressive, perfect for what was needed, loved the touch of bottled 'tap' water in the room. Breakfast was exceptional. A few things to address: clean under the beds! and clean the floors in the corridors and communal areas - they were dirty! Move some tables out of the breakfast area - to squashed! Other than that we were very impressed.

Great customer service from all staff. Modern style hotel with quirky rooms. Excellent breakfast. Only criticism is that the rooms are far too small and you can hear everything from the hallway and neighbouring rooms.

I enjoyed my stay and felt comfortable here. The only downside was that on the evening before th3 Bank Holiday Monday there was no food available and the gym closed early. I was told about the food on checking in but not the gym. It would have been useful to know these things earlier.

The staff I met were all very nice. I don’t really blame the reception staff, barman, the Manager, catering or the room cleaning staff, but the business processes need looking at to improve customer satisfaction. Reception was welcoming, having driven for 200 miles, on the hottest day of the year, we were tired and keen to have a shower and sleep and a great breakfast on our two day stay. The stairs up to the rooms, were dark and two fluorescent tubes were not working and a clear health and safety risk, for everyone. So, we decided to use the lift and it has a button missing, and a hole with a visible electrical wire. Our first room had lots of fallen grout in the shower, our second room, had a broken window, that would not shut and the string on the aircon remote was so short, it would not work! (and when the air con (and kettle) did work it was noisy) The third room, seemed OK, but only one door card was working, so visiting reception, was becoming a yo-yo event, to get a suitable room and it took over an hour to check-in to a fit for purpose room! The TV remote was in two bits, but I fixed it myself as I couldn’t face going back to Reception again and the TV only had a few channels and no radio or wake-up alarm, but we were so exhausted and tired, that we would report that in the morning at breakfast, (which we did), along with the faulty top door lock. That night, when we returned, one of our door keys, was not working again, the top door lock, was still faulty and the TV was the same, So we went back to reception and reported it again. We were informed that the Maintenance man, had not come that day and that was why, nothing was done, that was listed in the book. Later the Manger, told us that the upper door lock, was designed NOT to work and he had fixed the TV! Then he offered to fix the TV and offered us a complimentary drink, which was very welcome :-) That night the TV was fixed :-) and we stacked our bags on a chair against the door again as the top door lock was still not working. Breakfast at the hotel was OK, but unexciting, with queues for the temperamental pop-up toaster and coffee machine. Mushrooms, would be a welcome addition to the breakfast buffet menu :-) So, in general a very disappointing experience. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I had very good experiences with those on reception, catering staff and those that cleaned the rooms. The room was very comfortable and a pleasant environment. I was given a bag of sweets on my arrival and one also was provided for my friend who wasn't staying at the venue.

« OK, but could have been better »

The room was OK , bathroom was clean. A few things, should have been checked and fixed before the room was let...Loose toilet seat, bathroom door - not able to close (bottom of the door catching the floor), floor in the room, was not solid, too flexible, felt like I was going to go thru. Breakfast - too many tables in a small space. Coming in to find 80% of the tables free, but not cleared, only two 'clean' tables left...

Our stay was ok, as it was only for 1 night but sleep was an issue due to the noisy air conditioning unit next to my bed. Whenever it switched off, the room immediately heated up, as it was a very hot night, so it was not possible to turn it off. The beds were really comfortable and the room was clean. The corridor areas and lift were in need of a little TLC, looking a little tired. The upside of our visit was Jack, who was very personable and helpful, although his Flat White was cold (we didn't have the heart to tell him) and Wayne, who we ended up talking to for a long time, bout everything from customer service to the Algarve. I cannot recommend these 2 staff members highly enough. Breakfast was a let down too. The floor in the food area was really sticky, I'm not sure why. The cappuccino was delicious, so we had 2. My eggs were fine, as they had just been cooked, but my husband had the last one from the tray which was overcooked. The bacon was very fatty and dried out, and the sausages were not great quality. I would have preferred scrambled or poached eggs, but there was no choice. The toaster was extremely slow, and the yogurt choices weren't great. Fortunately, our room included breakfast, as I would not have paid extra for it.

We stayed over the bank holiday weekend for 3 nights, me & my wife were very happy & we will come back to you again. Check in staff are very friendly & helpful. Rooms are very clean & well furnished. Shower room is very cleaned and well equipped. Breakfast was amazing, most of the places you only get continental breakfast at ibis you serve cooked breakfast which was excellent. We had 2 rooms (4 guests) We found the location ideal for us , we spent 3 nights and the rooms were very comfortable . Our one complaint would be that there was a horrible drain type smell in the corridor and in both our rooms, we did talk to a member of staff and she immediately looked into it for us but sadly the smell remained . As we only slept in the room we carried in regardless. Overall we enjoyed our stay and breakfast was great !!
