« Good comfortable hotel for overnight stay next to motorway »

We were made very welcome by the staff. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The 'bar' and restaurant lacked any ambiance but were quite acceptable for a stopover. The fit out work in progress didn't bother us but may put others off. We thought the drinks prices were very high for the type of hotel and the location. However, the room and breakfast were excellent value.

« The facilities in the newly refurbished rooms are poor. »

New room layout problems. 1 High shelves no use and at a hight to hit with your head. 2 No surface to put things on (laptop, meal, makeup etc). You usually have some sort of bench under TV 3 Lighting - no bed side reading lights. The fancy new fittings are showey but useless in function.

« Great service »

From the outside the hotel looked nice but could have had better signage. Inside the hotel was functional with a nice bathroom and a very large bed. The best part was definitely the customer service, staff went out of their way to be helpful, sending me advice in case check in was closed, and making us food even though it had just gone 10pm.

« Was this an IBIS Hotel.............. »

Finding this Hotel was an interesting challenge, thee street address was added to our GPS, that in essence took us to the correct location. In actuality, we seemed to have dropped off the map in the middle of an industrial estate. We drove on, looking for the usual IBIS signs and Marque atop the hotel, only to find none of this. We eventually found the hotel devoid of the usual signage, but a tarpaulin on top of the hotel, covering the old company name. Check in was almost to IBIS standard, however being long standing Accor card holders (Business & Gold Card) we expected a welcome drink, but no, we were told this was not yet in place, although stating full coverage on the website. The reception area had what looked to be a section of wall used originally for vending machines, so was totally out of place. We were allocated a room up to IBIS Standards, this was pretty good. The bar was extremely limited, we asked for the wine list and were told: white-rose-red only. On the wall over from the bar were temperature controlled cases containing wines from the three wine regions that met at Montargis, seemingly none of these was available for consumption at the bar. We asked again if there was a wine list, answer, no there was not. We returned to the bar just before the restaurant opened - 1900, we had arrived around 1500, had drinks from the bar, then went to the Restaurant when it opened. The menu was limited, but better that than a poorly made meal. We again asked for any wine list they had. Some 15 minutes later the single staff member returned with a printout with highlighted bottles, one of which we settled for. The following day we breakfasted, standard French style. Again only one staff member onsite, serving spoons were missing, had to be asked for, likewise the OJ had run out, other guests had given up by then and left. Website comments on being able to dine next to the pool, well the entrance to the area next to the pool was locked, and unavailable. Lastly, on the website, there are some lovely external pictures, but they bear no resemblance to this hotel, with the exception of the bedrooms, the outside pictures are of Montargis a few km away.

Excellent welcome, Good rooms, very clean, good tv, CNN. Europeans TV channels welcome.. Breakfast is ok. parking Okay.
