I book a room in the hotel and at my arrival I was told that I was in another building and in an apartment not in an hotel. the building is really old, the room had a bad smell and was really not at the level that normally I'm expenting from an 4stars hotel

When you like the noise of the metro kedengkedengkedeng between 05:30 and 01:00h, incl vibrations, this is your place

A hotel where you can enjoy every metro passing underneath, including a room shaking (i was in 304). Ridiculously loud. Breakfast mediocre and not ready in time, be prepared to face closed breakfast room doors, no croissants/pain au raissin because they forgot to bake them, and cold scrambled eggs. Staff was not receptive to complaints and started talking French with eachother not knowing I understand French perfectly as well............you should never ever start lying to your customers......Never ever again as this lousy experience came at a significant pricetag. Not worth the money at all, being there for business purposes a good quality sleep is paramount, and believe me, this hotel guarantees extremely poor sleep and mediocre breakfast. 2/10 score (and I have seen some hotels all over the world)

I came several times in your hotel and was satisfied. But I've never experienced your "Residence Mercure" building until now. How can this be 4 stars graded ? He doesn't deserve better than one star From outside, similar to the main hotel. But when you are on the floor, everything is very old, not maintained and dirty. My room 531 was very poor. In bathroom, tiles are cracked and even broken. The underside of the vanity unit is all rusty and very dirty. The ventilation grilles full of dust. The furniture is all very worn and damaged. No restaurant, no room service (rather lobby service). All for the same price as for rooms in main building. To sum up : having a 1 star room and paying for 4 stars. Do you find this fair ?

We fully understand your dissatisfaction, as the Residence is awaiting major renovations, and some of its areas are in need of a major refresh. Also, please note that the Residence is by no means a star-rated establishment, and the prices offered are systematically lower than those found in the Mercure hotel at the same time. (This explains, for example, why services such as room service are not offered). Rates change according to demand and the time of year, and we understand that this can sometimes lead to very high prices. However, our cleaning service is on hand to keep the premises clean, so we can assure you that the problem is one of age and not dirt. Good base for rugby weekend

I chose the Residence as it was well priced and very close to the La Defense Arena where I was going to watch the rugby. Check in was fine but a sign on the door to the Residence saying that you had to get you entry/room key from the main hotel would have been useful. Took a while to work it out. Once in the room was basic (bed, TV, table and chair, bathroom, kettle and tea/coffee) which was all I was expecting for the price. However, the whole facility (i.e. hallways and room) was very "tired" and in need of renovation. Peeling paintwork, chipped skirting etc. and pretty old fashioned. Still it was clean and convenient so no real complaints. Would stay again if going to the stadium but for no other reason. Few basic eateries, bars in the area plus a decent Franprix small supermarket and a cafe.

I was with my family and had an apartment. The location was close to the station. Although it was known that as an apartment it would not be cleaned by the house keepers until after 5 days. But they came every day took out the rubbish and checked our towels. This was pleasant surprise.
