Everything from initial reception to booking out was a pleasureable experience. The room was exceptional from the view to the to the quality of the bath towels. The bar service was efficient, dining experience enjoyable and all the staff encountered were without exception helpful and courteous. We will be back!

My sister booked our room a couple of months ago. At the time she specifically asked for, and was assured we would get, a travel cot in the room. The week before we checked in I rang myself to double check. I was assured this was fine. However, when it came time for bed there was no travel cot. The hotel was “looking for one” for approximately an hour until they confessed they didn’t have one available. My sister, who fortunately lives nearby, had to get one from a friend and bring it over at around 8.30 in the evening. This was disgusting service and meant our nights sleep was not good. The hotel either lied about having one or have it someone else instead.

Booked through the Accorhotels website which promised things that aren't delivered - luxurious beds, free mineral water in the room, satellite/cable TV. Beds were saggy and lumpy, no water in the room - had to phone up for some at midnight and then get dressed and get it myself at 12.45am and then was asked to pay for it (I didn't), and Freeview is not the equivalent of satellite/cable TV. Went to the bar for a drink before dinner, ordered a hot chocolate for my daughter which was forgotten - by the time I reminded the bartender I then had to move our table booking back half an hour. Thought we'd have a nice meal in the restaurant but my daughter's curry was inedible after eating 2 cardamon pods and finding a further 9 in the food, Mac n cheese was watery, curry was watery, hummous was flavourless and a weird texture. Only 1 breakfast tea bag in the room, when I asked for more i was only given 2 so had to ask several times, only decaf coffee in the room too. Spa treatment was cancelled an hour before it was due to start and rescheduled for the next morning so our plans had to be changed. We were asked what we wanted from our facials and said "relaxation" - the facial was like having my face washed by my mum when I was a kid, fast, heavy handed and far from relaxing. Neither of our consent/medical forms were looked at or discussed with us and no consultation of our skin type carried out. The therapist who did my facial was doing my daughter's brows afterwards and told me 4 times that I needed mine doing, with the tone of voice that made it clear that my brows were awful. Came out of the spa treatment and had to wait for the payment to be taken - in the process were locked out of our room as we were 1 minute late to get our things so had to trek to the reception again to get a new key card. The TV had a cheap remote that didn't work all the TV features so I was unable to put the subtitles on - therefore was unable to watch TV.

Disapointing as the swimming pool was closed due to chemical levels. Our room was noisy with a constant hum of an airconditioning unit outside. I was woken at 6.00am by staff talking loudly just below our window. We were given a disabled room with a wet room rather than a normal shower. No discount was offered on account of the pool being closed.

Booking over the phone a pain always busy, no email conformation even though asked each week. welcome when you book in feel like you not wanted here . Have to re programme door card everyday seams like a real task for front of house staff to do ,after a long day at work you want to go to your room key card dosnt work have to walk back to reception wait while new guest are booked in then to get told they are very sensitive (rubbish) rooms not being serviced , have to wait an age for someone at reception to answer phone always in back room.

« Good all round hotel »

Good location and clean hotel. Polite and helpful staff as you would expect. Quiet even though there were two wedding parties. Bar food was good, standard bar food options and relaxing lobby/bar area. Room was a good size as we had a Privilege room. Well equipped room and good Wi-Fi signal. Pool is small but warm and pleasant. Sauna and steam room area look a little neglected and in need of modernization and a good clean. Jacuzzi was closed for over two hours being cleaned so didn't get to use it which was disappointing. No warning from SPA reception about this due to communication it seemed. Service at breakfast was prompt and polite and selection and quality very good too, All in all, a decent hotel for the cost and a good location within walking distance to bars and restaurants etc. On site parking too which is of course handy and a quiet neighborhood. A solid 4/5.

An uncomfortable night's sleep in a badly ventilated room - no fan or Air conditioning. Old furniture and a musty smell in the corridors and room. Not an inviting room - no pictures on the walls. It needs a major upgrade. I won't be staying here again

We enjoyed our stay. The room was good. We used the spa facilities twice, and we were more than happy with these. On Saturday evening I let a member of spa staff know that there were towels, gowns and slippers discarded on the floor and benches; she was not interested and did not go to clear these. I spoke to a member of staff and let them know. Breakfast was fine and there was variety. some of the staff were exceptional, including Megan on reception. The grounds are great (lots of exploring opportunities for children; it was let down by the rubbish and overflowing dog poo bin.

We liked the hotel, the food and the restaurant staff. Our stay was spoilt by the fact our room was not made up on Monday and on Wednesday only the quilt was pulled back with pots and bathroom left untouched. This was below what we expect from an Accor Hotel of any standard.

« Nice hotel, BUT..... »

The staff were very good. The room was a nice size. I loved the bathroom shelves, there is rarely enough room to put "stuff" in modern hotels. BUT, the lighting was terrible. There was no light near the desk so we couldn't read anything there. The bedside lights had great big shades on so no light got through to help us read in bed. We took the shades off in the end.

Unable to check in at noon as advised we could, on arrival told it would be 1.30 - 2pm. When needing to be ready to attend a wedding. Shower gel in bathroom had not been replenished, empty bottle left, breakfast tea in room just one teabag provided. Breakfast, very overcooked scrambled egg, poor quality bacon, grilled tomato still hard and cold in middle. No green tea available at breakfast, this is now a staple product, my wife had to have just hot water as unable to drink breakfast tea or coffee. For a hotel that is supposed to be of a high standard, this is one of the worst we have stayed in and we have stayed in many around the world over many years. Will certainly not use it again.

Room didn’t get cleaned for two days . No coffee no tea, someone walked in to my room at 9/30 pm thinking it was his room.no soap no clean towels. No beer at the bar.ive been staying here for one week every month for the last 2 years. This was buy far the worst.

On arrival to our room, it was visibly unclean, hair in the bathroom area and could have used some new fixtures and fittings, the bedroom area certainly could have used with redecoration, very tired looking. Carpets had been half attempted at being hoovered. The kettle continually boiled unless switched off manually (unsafe).. family members staying in the same hotel received complimentary soft drinks in their fridge (they paid considerably less per room than I) and we received no complimentary drinks and a very limited selection of teas and coffees, they obviously had not been replenished. Breakfast staff on the Saturday morning were generally unhelpful and it was apparent they would have rather been somewhere else other than work. The breakfast itself was good is the one positive and the staff on the Sunday morning were far more happy and helpful. Overall very disappointing and certainly not value for money!
