Very positive all round. On arrival the IT system was down so I was offered and accepted a coffee. Helpful and friendly check in staff. Room was spacious and clean, as well as being well-appointed. Gym was fine. Dinner excellent food - attentive staff, similar with breakfast. Overall a really positive experience.

I’ve just returned from 3 night stay at the Kenwood Hall Hotel in Sheffield. At 16.40 on Thursday I phoned reception to request some milk for a cup of coffee because it had not been replenished earlier that day. One hour later it had not arrived so I rang again, at this point I even offered to collect it myself but was told it would be sorted immediately. Half an hour later it had still not arrived so I rang and asked to speak to duty manager. I was told she was busy with a customer but would call me when she was free. Another half an passed and there was a knock on the door, it was the duty manager. She didn’t know I was waiting for some milk. I explained what had happened and she apologised and returned with some milk a few minutes later. 2 hours after requesting some milk I was finally able to enjoy a cup of coffee. Something is wrong here, I hope you will agree. Some people at this hotel are clearly not doing their job properly and this is further evidenced by the fire evacuation instructions on the back of my door. As you can see from the photo attached, this notice relates to escaping from room 330, I was in room 503. So, if my room has the wrong notice it’s reasonable to assume that the others or even all of the rooms also have. I assume that the hotel

Stay spoilt by very low levels of lighting in our room. I could not see to read a newspaper! Desk lamps or standard lamps needed in addition to bedside spots please.

Had a very nice room but it was cold at night and during parts of the day. Good breakfast and evening meal (one very grumpy waitress on the Friday night) It would be nice to have some condiments on the table (mustard, sauce) to avoid waiting until everyone in the group had been served their main course before taking care of this, - by which time the meal is cold. Rooms need some upgrade in terms of power sockets. Very small sign at the gates of the hotel saying it was the Kenwood Hall so drove past it a couple of times looking for it.

Room was not clean, dirty tissues and sweet wrappers on the floor, only three towels and two cups, however the bar was contemporary and clean The spa was below average, very disappointing but lovely staff.

I enjoyed my stay. The room was nice n the food was lovely and the resturant n bar staff are very nice n attentive n provided gud customer service. I had a lovely time relaxing in the spa. Only thing was that we called the reception numerous times for tea bags n toliet roll but no1 answers the phone. When sum1 did answer about the 6th time we called the male receptionist said he is not gud at multitasking so he could not answer the phone. Then wen we did walk past the reception desk shortly after no1 was at the desk. I thought there should b someone on the desk or if they sat in their office sum1 shud b avalible to answer the phone to guests. Apart from that i had a lovely stay and would recomend your hotel to my friends and family n clients from my job.

This was my first stay at a spa hotel, the rooms, facilities and grounds were lovely. All the staff were friendly and helpful and made our stay even more comfortable. We enjoyed it so much that we booked an extra night and were upgraded to a suite overlooking the lake.

I booked a junior suit for a special 50th birthday surprise and found our room had a patio door that didn't lock, chewing gum on the wall, rose petals under the bed and a very shabby bathroom. We got a free upgrade to supposedly 'one of your best rooms' and this was even worse. The radiator didn't work, it was freezing cold, the wall paper on the ceiling and wall was peeling off, the room smelt awful and the carpet was wet through. I had also booked 2 spa treatments some time ago for 4pm, on arrival at 3.15pm we were told that they had been changed to 3.30pm without me being told. I had the original confirmation showing that I had booked for 4pm slots. We were told we couldn't have them later as there was staff training. If we had indeed turned up at 3.45pm we would have missed them. This was the final straw and we left without having our treatment and checked out immediately. The reception staff were polite, professional, very helpful and gave us a full refund. My girlfriends 50th Birthday was completely ruined which she will forget!!

Lovely large room, decent restaurant, friendly staff. Our room only erratically restocked with toilet rolls, tea, biscuits. On one day our room was only partially serviced with bed not made and bathroom not tidied. We were booked in for the mandolin weekend Nov 1-3 and had booked two extra nights (Thursday and Sunday) on our own account, with Friday and Saturday night being prepaid by the organisers. Unfortunately no connection had been made between our booking for Sunday night and the booking made by the mandolin weekend organisers despite your staff being made aware of this at the time of booking. On Sunday we found the room keycard no longer worked and I had to go to reception to sort this out, making me late for the next workshop session. When we checked out, we only got the bill for Sunday night and not Thursday. I explained twice to the receptionist regarding the stay on Thursday night and Sunday night since as far as I could see we were not being charged for the Thursday night. All the receptionist would say is that we only owed for the Sunday night. My credit card statement now shows a charge for what I assume to be the Thursday night but I obviously was not shown the bill and cannot check this. Neither was I asked to sign for this amount at the time which should have happened and an omission which I find somewhat concerning. Please send me a copy of our bill for the Thursday night Oct 31 so I may check it

After a warm welcome from the Reception team we checked out our room which was newly refurbished. The décor was great and the bathroom was airy with good lighting along with plenty of shelf space and the choice of a bath, shower or drench shower. Breakfast was plentiful and all the staff were helpful and friendly.

My stay was basically somewhere to sleep during the night as I was out most of the day. As a gold member of the Accor programme I have become accustom to receiving a welcome drink voucher and a gift but I didn't receive that here. Not really an issue. What I found disappointing was that the faucet in the tap was missing so when I turned it on the water would splash everywhere. there were no sockets by the beds and there was no netting on the window so I didn't feel comfortable opening the curtains in the morning.

We travel from Surrey to see family and have been staying here a couple of times a year since 2015 and despite several changes in the franchise chain (Mercure, Best Western, Hailey) the overall experience is unchanged. We always get a friendly welcome from reception staff, cleaning staff and catering staff alike, throughout our stay. The hotel communal areas and rooms are smart, clean and always comfortable. That it is dog friendly is of vital importance for us and they too are made very welcome, with designated bedrooms for people travelling with dogs on the ground floor. You can eat in the bar area with your dog if you need to and the grounds afford a quick am/ pm walk without having to leave the site. Parking is plentiful but does get busy in the evenings. All staff are very friendly and clearly hard working, but were obviously stretched in reception during check in times, as queues verified. Things you could improve are simple; hot plates for breakfast (it's such a basic catering standard yet despite being in a metal plate warmer they are never hot), replace the soft/ old mattresses and keep an eye on the path leading down the side of the hotel to the grounds - VERY slippy during our stay. Treasure your older experienced catering staff! Two men (sorry I can't remember their names) and Violet have been there some time and are truly professional, friendly and efficient at breakfast. Thank you all. As long as it remains dog friendly we will be back next year.

I enjoyed my stay as usual, and stayed in my usual room. But noticed that end of the hotel is looking tired in the communal areas. And the shower head was still leaking as on my previous stay. But that aside the hotel and staff are superb
