Not Satisfied with Wedding Experience

I had planned by wedding with Grand Plaza and have been planning this event for over 4 months with the hotel. The initial planning phase was going very well, I dealt with Nasreen and was happy with her overall service. I had paid for the wedding in advance prior to the wedding. We rented multiple rooms, over 20-30 rooms for our family and friends. Due to Eid, Nasreen had gone on annual leave and handed over the event to Neha who was then responsible for the event. We moved into the hotel on the 10th April and we had other guests moving in from the 11-13th April Neha and her team could not find the names of any rooms booked, people were waiting until 5:30 pm to check in because their rooms could not be found on the system or the rooms were not ready, although check-in is supposed to be at 2 pm. On the day of the wedding, we had such a terrible experience with the waiters serving food during the wedding. They were walking in front of guests during speeches, and chatting amongst themselves. As the bride, I had to personally stand up while people were giving speeches to stop people from speaking. Many guests did not eat any food because it was all taken away very quickly. Our wedding cake was not cut at all, it was not given to us to take away. We simply didn't see it or even taste it. I was chased with the corkage bill at 5 am in my room. The next day, Neha sent me a bill for the entire wedding, for the Majlis and canapes, although I had paid all this, insisting its unpaid. The level of disorganization was so unpleasant it does not make me want to return to this hotel again or even recommend this hotel to anyone. For what the hotel is charging, this is not the service I expect from anyone.

My experience at Grand Plaza Movenpick Media City was nothing short of amazing. From the time of checkin to checkout. We arrived earlier than checkin time and we were able to check in and go straight to our rooms. Ayesha at the front desk was amazing. She found out it was my bday celebration trip and arranged for a birthday surprise while I was out enjoying the city. She was always there to answer my question and always had a smile on her face, no matter what time of day it was. Ayesha made my experience at your hotel, all that much more special. The hotel overall was amazing, the room, the rooftop bar and all the staff. Cleanliness was top tier and staff nothing but great and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and I will recommend to anyone…

From the moment we arrived, we were consistently impressed by the professionalism and genuine hospitality of your staff. The warm welcome at the entrance set the tone for our stay. The check-in process was seamless, and Aneshya, the staff member who assisted us, displayed such confidence in the hotel's offerings that we were easily convinced to extend our stay – a decision we did not regret. It is evident that your staff is highly intentional in the service they provide. We were fortunate to encounter several exceptional individuals throughout our stay. Ruslan, from the dining area, initially seemed hesitant but expertly navigated a conversation, finding common ground with us. His passion and potential in the hospitality industry are undeniable, and I am confident he has a bright future ahead. Lovely, another staff member, truly exemplified commendable service. Her attentiveness to detail and proactive approach in ensuring everything was in order and that all guests were comfortable were truly impressive. We also had the pleasure of meeting a lovely lady from Myanmar in the 23rd-floor lounge (whose name I regrettably cannot recall). Her aspiration to pursue a career in law was inspiring, and her passion for success was evident in our conversation as we enjoyed the sunset view. I sincerely hope she achieves her goal of completing her studies and making a positive impact. The staff at the front desk, including the concierge, consistently displayed warmth, professionalism, and wit. It is clear that your organization invests heavily in selecting and training its employees. They are truly the hotel's greatest asset, and their dedication significantly enriched our experience. We were so impressed that we now consider Mövenpick Grand Plaza Dubai our preferred address whenever we visit Dubai. Overall, this stay has surpassed all our previous experiences at Mövenpick hotels and stands out as the best hotel stay we've had in Dubai. Thank you once again for a truly remarkable experience. Akshay, Mayul are just a few names from the restaurant staff I’d like to mention although EVERY single staff member is top notch at customer support providing the best experience for the customer
