« Totally unexpected »

The staff, and, especially the General manager were extremely well intuned with the operation of the Hotel the needs of the guest. It was unexpected at the Breakfast table on the Thursday, 1/08/2019, that the GM, Norizma, came and took up conversation with me. Even as I was sitting at the Lunch table with the attitude in me, 'I don't want to go home', I knew that it was time to move on. The 'mixture' of the staff was something that, even, some Australian GMs could be invited to the Hotel and work in a similar situation.

I was happy with the staff out of 10 will give them a 15. The manager and the bar tender on 27/7/19 night went their way out and prepared food for my parents . What i am upset is the accor free drinks there i am on a holiday and the best you can offer me was free coffee. Me and family was on a holiday and coffee was the selection given. Second i cant use my vaucher in this hotel. 2 yrs i have been with accor these vaucher just got burn. After booking the hotel then only i found out you cant use then in this hotel. Which is ridiculous. Is like telling you have so many advantages but there triple the amount of catch before you can actually use free vouchers. This will be my last year with accor.

Everything was great staff was very amazing even went out of the way to prepare food for my parents. What I am dissapointed at is with accor are you kidding me there we were on a holiday and is ridiculous to say my free drink is only coffee and juice. Getting very dissapointed with accor .

For staying at Mercure Penang Beach was good & comfortable in general. All staffs are friendly & helpful except one of the parking was reserved specially to In House General Manager. I don't know why it happened but for my point of view the In House General Manager shouldn't reserved parking lot for own usage. It should be open to all guest if the guest needed. For me, it was not a good example as General Manager of a famous hotel. I had stayed in these hotel 20 years ago by the name of Sandy Bay Hotel if not mistaken. To my surprised & experienced this kind of attitude came from the hotel General Manager itself.

I’m very impressed with their arrangement even they are not a 5-star hotel but the way they treat their clients is beyond my expectation. Upon arrival, we are greeted with smiley faces and a VIP designated parking slot was assigned for my car. We were then welcomed by May May T'ng at front desk and we did the check-in process in our upgraded sea-facing suite room. Subsequently our luggage and few welcome drinks were sent to the room. Besides Americano, our heart were sweetened by the chilling nutmeg juice. Kudos to your team, Dennis Dillon. We also had a great experience in Ombak due to personalised services from Vicky; the level of services that I don’t S. in other Accors hotel incl. Sofitel. Keep it up and well done Mercure Penang!

I had high hope for this hotel. But was disappointed with the overall experience. -a 4 star hotel with no bathrobes? -insufficient parking area -breakfast area was packed, too packed. Insufficient seating area -no rainwater showerhead -old TV that is not up to the current standard -dirty oily menu in the room -very little toiletteries provided. No comb, no sewing kit
