« A lovely hotel »

A delightful modern hotel in an excellent location in Roscoff. The room was very comfortable despite being a little small. An excellent bed that was very comfortable. The breakfast was extremely good with a wide variety available. All in all it is to be highly recommended as a hotel.

« Pleasant stay in Roscoff, overooking the beach »

We really enjoyed our stay in your hotel in Roscoff, particularly having the enclosed balcony overlooking the sea, which meant we could sit out enjoying a gin and tonic even when the weather was less than perfect. The room was generously sized, everything therein was in full working order, and the staff were courteous and helpful. Parking was a bit tricky - it would have helped to be told in advance about the two short term parking spaces right outside the door, as we could have unloaded our heavier luggage items there instead of carrying them 500m from the main town car park, but that was only a very minor negative in an overwhelmingly positive stay.

We arrived, bit of a panic to give us the room key, room was nice , a little mould around the bath, but great view and clean and tidy! Then as I was in the shower another guest walked into our room? Then apologised and walked out! We checked out the next day , and had an odd conversation with the member of staff who checked us out as to what room we were in as we weren’t on the system? Just seemed disorganised! And I didn’t get any members discount!!

« Disappointing. Not up to what I have experienced with Mercure hotels. »

In general, the experience was OK. The hotel is in very good condition and the staff are what one would expect from a Mercure hotel. However, the room was very small, too small for comfort. The receptionist at check-in, even before we had seen the room, was very careful to explain that I had booked the room myself on-line and gave me the exact figure for the square metres of the room I had chosen, thus pre-empting any complains I might make. I will only say that I find it difficult to visualise a room, having only read the square metres on the web-site.

« Somewhat disappointed »

Booked a room facing the road in this hotel just off the town centre. Not told that there was the annual Journee Patrimoine event being held that weekend even though this event would have been planned for months in advance. So, on arrival in Roscoff we found the roads leading to the hotel were shut with no diversions marked and no access to the hotel. The hotel's parking (which was a key reason for choosing this hotel) was closed and all carparks full to bursting. Hotel's reception were unable to suggest a route and we didn't know the town. GPS always took us to closed-off roads. Spent the last few hours of our Brittany holiday driving around trying to find somewhere near to the hotel to park - eventually parked on a building site. Crowds of people milling around and noise, loudspeaker announcements, fireworks, bagpipes played directly outside our window! Hotel apparently sent email only a few days previously about roads being closed but we were on holiday and didn't receive it. No offer of a change to sea-facing room. No mini-bar as advertised. Colours of room (tomato red, graphite grey and dark beige) made room very dark and depressing. Room also quite hot and stuffy and we were obliged to have the window open. Five days ago we sent an email to the manager, Mr. Jauneau, (in French) asking for a response to our complaints but have not had the courtesy of a reply.

All our efforts are concentrated in preventing future occurrences. Besides, that's what we did with all of our customers to which you belong. An email was sent to each of them in order to prevent difficulties of access to the hotel and park Roscoff. Unfortunately you are the only one who did not receive it because you were on vacation. We could not know that. The hotel was full and it was difficult for us to upgrade you in a room with sea view. Heritage Day is part of the traditions and French culture. The music, parades in traditional costumes, the fireworks are attractions that typically interest to tourists, they have fun and fully contribute to the success of this great event. « Our First Stay Under New Ownership »

We have been regular guests at this hotel in previous years and are very pleased that although changes have been made, they have been done sympathetically and have enhanced our enjoyment. We were given our preferred room. The staff made us most welcome and were extremely helpful. The only small criticism that we would make is the lack of a non-slip bath/shower mat. As we are elderly, this would have been helpful.

« Great Hotel, Nightmare Parking and Access for Disabled! »

This is a great hotel but is let down in several ways. My wife has a disability and access to the hotel starts at the car. Parking is a nightmare we were in the towns main carpark and that is a long way to walk with a disabled person. You are then confronted with stairs up to the foyer and reception. The lift is very small and restrictive. There is no evening restaurant, for an evening meal, only bar food. This is poor for such a prestigious hotel, we had to go up the street to another hotel for our evening meal. Lunch was equally poor, but having a balcony and sea view made up for the poor lunch. It should be made plain on any web site that parking is difficult and disabled access is poor.

This is a great hotel but disabled access is poor and parking is a nightmare. The room that we had was a sea view room with balcony. It was very nice but the bathroom is small and not well laid out. There is no evening restaurant only bar meals, same for lunch. This needs addressing in such a prestigious hotel. A full range of services should be available. Parking is not so easy to sort out due to the location. If you have infirm or disabled people in your group this hotel is best avoided.

We had a pleasant stay. Staff were helpful and friendly. The biggest drawback was the automatic light in the small hallway between the bedroom and shower room. We don’t think it should be movement sensitive as it was intrusive and gave a loud audible click every time it came on or went off which became rather annoying.

« A very welcoming, beautifully decorated pet friendly hotel. »

The pet friendly side of the hotel was perfect. I think it would be a good idea to put a small cleanable mat down for dog food and water bowl, I was worried the dogs would make a mess on the obviously new carpet. It was lovely that the dogs were allowed into the bar and breakfast room with us. Pet friendly in the true sense of the word. The breakfast was the best breakfast We have ever had in a French hotel. Even the choice of bacon eggs and sausage. A perfect welcome to English people that look forward to a full cooked breakfast. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. We would definitely recommend friends and family. Thank you for a lovely stay.

« room absolute substandard »

We were assigned room #305 which is a micro-space not even standard at "ibis" for a booked stay of three days. No room for luggage. Two people can not stay in room at same time. If that is here the managers view of treating "Gold ACCOR" members we gladly skip future plans to book "Mercure". Reception staff was in no way helpful in finding a solution for our need of a larger ("Mercure" sized room). On the contrary - they seem proud of their Liliput accomodations at great prizes. Another practical joke in this hotel: the elevator does not take two people with luggage. What we would have exspected you might be asking? Well, three houses down the same road there is an "ibis" where we received sponanteous support and a decent room. A hint from the "Mercure" staff would have been appreciated.

Very comfortable, great service, superb breakfast BUT the only problem was that we were unable to park in your VERY small parking prive on the first night of our stay. We appreciated the fridge in our room. The personnel are excellent.
