« Just what we needed »

After a long flight which landed at 17.30, and with a fairly long drive ahead of us to Tenby, we were very pleased that we had pre-booked a room at the Mercure. Our pleasure was amplified when we opened the door to our very nice room - and multiplied when we tried our first G & T, served by Micael in the very pleasant Bar/Restaurant. Dinner was tasty, if a tad expensive, and the beds were really comfortable so that we had a splendid night's sleep. In the morning, the in-room coffee and tea tray was very welcome - once we had found a socket in which to plug the kettle! The Bijou bathroom provided a really good shower, and breakfast was very nice - it would have rated higher but it was quite cold since the buffet presentation was not adequately heated. The staff were pleasant and efficient, the hotel was sparklingly clean and the free parking was a bonus. We are satisfied customers who will certainly return

« Perfect post flight stopover »

We chose to stay at the Mercure after a long flight to Birmingham and before a long drive to Tenby. What a good decision! The room was excellent, the first G & T in the bar was splendidly served by Micael and Dinner was simple but tasty. The beds were very comfortable, so we both slept well, the bijou bathroom provided a really good shower and breakfast was pretty good - it could have been warmer. Satisfied guests who will visit again.

« My stay was ok, you have excellent friendly staff, let down by hotel renovations »

As above all staff were excellent. Because of the extensive building work in the hotel the guest experience was somewhat underwhelming. I had 2 nights and couldn't fault the staff but due to the renovations there was limited functionality in the hotel area. The main problem was the breakfast, which on both days was stone cold.

I went to my room and couldn't enter went back to reception they activated the keyfob when I went back to my allocated room it was a twin instead of double. Again, I returned to reception and was allocated another room, back I went to another room in the lift again....got to the room and it smelt extremely strong of paint whereby my eyes started to burn and I felt sick. I returned to reception yet again and informed the lady of this she apologised and gave me another alternative room ,,,,,finally I was satisfied. 3rd time lucky and all was well. Shame about it taking 3 attempts but it was dealt with swiftly after the walks back and forth. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and warm with the electric heater provided.

« Average experience - I expected more of the Mercure »

Hotel was still being renovated - the bedroom had a vaguely "hospital" smell to it. "Rainfall" shower was more like a drizzle and the breakfast was below standard - plates were cold (although it had a sign saying to be careful they were hot) - the food was lukewarm so on a cold plate it was poor. I complained in the restaurant and at Reception when checking out - both were apologetic - but no offer of removing the charge from the bill.

« The room looked great but was very impractical. »

Reception staff very helpful. Limited menu due to hotel changes. The room looked great , the television set was great and the bed was very comfortable. After that not so good. The lights seemed to have a mind of their own and it took a long time to find the right switches - very confusing.There was one tiny table and little space to work. There was only one drawer and that contained a hair drier, so no storage space apart from some coat hanging space. Similarly in the bathroom no storage space and very little space to put a washbag or other bathroom necessities. It was impossible to run the bath without getting into the bath due to a rigid screen alongside the bath. The toilet roll holder was insecurely attached to the wall and was so close to the toilet that sitting or standing before or after using the toilet meant that it often fell onto the floor. Not hygienic at all!

« Pretty poor to be honest... »

Dining area was cold with one tiny heater trying to heat the room, i ended up dining with my coat on. Unable to get VAT receipts for my meals at reception when i was told that i would be able too. Reception advised on Friday morning that they would get them emailed over to me and they haven't been. I now have a discrepancy with my company credit card. I also ordered chicken breast but it turned out that it was an error on the menu and it should have advised chicken leg. I was not offered a discount or an apology.

Lovely staff and room. Our coffee and milk had not been replenished. The water bottles had already been opened and partly consumed. Very noisy family door and was woken at 0600

I have stayed at this hotel for many years and my current experience was the worse I have had. The staff was inexperienced and unhelpful. I would not stay at this hotel again. At my original booking I booked a twin room and on arrival I was done for double bedroom.

Not a bad little hotel but far out way but ok most of staff were really nice some a little disinterested , bfst was nice but could of been better toaster either didn't brown your toast or set on fire no fried eggs for choice of eggs on first morning then there was fried eggs on 2nd morning first morning an older asian man just stood propped up at the welcome and looked bored unhelpful to say the least, next morning lovely helpful ladies a better bfst experience,pool was nice bit small but heated jacuzzi was lovely but steam and sauna out of order that was disappointing,on whole need tweaking but hotel is going threw a refurb so understandable in some areas, room was basic but comfortable no herbal teas in room or for bfst ,

« Overall experience, poor to average. »

I have regularly stayed at this hotel since July 2016. This was my third stay this year and stayed for 3 nights with bed and breakfast. Previously called, Park Inn by Radisson. The top shower knob has the screw missing and came off easily. On the Sunday, the house maid did not replace a hand towel in the ring on the sink, did not fill tea, coffee or milk on the tray. A glass with water was on the table from the previous day. I used a cup and the spoon was still on the tissue where l had left. I could not use the safe either.On Sunday evening, I went to the Receptionist and complained to her. I collected 2 pots of milk and coffee sachets. Then she sent a Colleague to open the Safe. He was VERY good. He offered me a sandwich or a drink, but I did not want anything. On Tuesday 8 Oct, when I checked out, the Receptionist asked me how was my stay. I informed her of the issues.
