« Not as described »

Before arrival I asked (as a preference and I understand requested cannot be guaranteed) to be accommodated in a quiet room on a high floor. When we arrived the hotel frontage did not look anything like the picture on your website so we weren't sure if we were even at the correct location. The building had scaffolding all around the bottom and up to some other floors. We were given a room on the ground floor by the main road. The room was dark and freezing cold. The air conditioning didn't work for any heat. The bathroom was freezing. Very disappointing.

« A hotel I would stay at again »

Very welcoming and friendly staff. Hotel reception has everything it needs. Newly refurbished rooms are spot-on and bathroom is kitted our well as well. I would have given my experience a score of 10 however, we were awoken early Saturday morning to the sound of scaffolding being erected outside our room. I think if we had been pre-warned then it would have been less of a shock waking up to see a man standing outside our bedroom window on the first floor!

« Four star comfort at a budget price - for now . . . »

The bathroom window would not open, the loo flush was unreliable and would not work for several hours, the bathroom door had swollen and stuck on the floor when you opened it, the plaster near the room door had a lump out of it, but the bed was comfortable. The air conditioning was welcome, and the room was cool instead of blisteringly hot. Rooms next to firedoors in the corridor are prone to noise, and people in the corridors at 3:00 a.m. were loud. Well done for accommodating the Y6 prom that evening, although it didn't sound as though the prommers knew how to handle a prom. Please sort out the name of the hotel on Google Maps, and Bing Maps, and with the taxi companies, as none of them knew the name, nor its location. It took a long conversation on the phone to get a taxi to start off. It's good to have a comfortable hotel away from the city centre.

The hotel has changed hands since we last stayed and it was obvious the change is probably quite new with a lot of work still going on. Our room had the double bed, but the sofa had been made down into another bed, even though this was not something we had requested. The room was clean and suited our needs but were woken often on both nights from a noise coming from the roof - we suspect we had a water boiler above our room (311) and the noise we hard was the water in the tank boiling up.

« The room, decor and the service in the restaurant was poor. »

The room did not have enough coffee and tea for the family. The staff in the restaurant for breakfast were not welcoming and keen to clear up. The breakfast particularly the hashbrown tasted terrible.

Had a good nights sleep, room was great, staff were excellent I had an issue with the safe which was resolved quickly. Only comment is disappointed to see toiletries in single use small plastic bottles.

Hotel staff were polite and helpful. However, We did not know about the refurbishment until we arrived, There was no pool or spa, I was told that they were closed 8 years ago, can you explain why they still appear on the Accor site description? We went out on Saturday night and returned to our room, no lights were working in the bedroom. After switching various lights on and off we managed to get the side light on the dresser working, no bedside lights, we were asked if we wanted to change rooms, it was 11:45pm, not at that time of night! The fan in the bathroom was noisy and stayed on all night and my companions mattress cover had blood on it. We wouldn't have noticed if the bed had been made properly. We reported this when we went down in the morning and was told these things would be dealt with before our return. We returned to our room that evening, the lights had been fixed, the fan in the bathroom still on so no luck there, the stain on the mattress cover still there, and the bed even more badly made? I think they just tucked the duvet in. dirty cups on the side from our morning tea and towels left hanging where we discarded them after our showers. We chose this hotel because it had a pool and spa initially. So I guess you could say disappointed from the get go. Sorry Accor but for such a prestigious hotel group epic fail on this one.

Good, we stayed in a family room, it was a good size for a family of 4. Travel Cot was not up when we arrived first time but was on our second visit. Pizzas in the bar area were delicious. Room could have been cleaner, we had to move the side tables to get the cot in and these had not been moved for cleaning. Temperature of the room was good, shower was great and the hotel was quiet. We would return. Thanks

« A real shame »

Due to the obvious transition from one company to another the whole visit was poor. The room stank of sewage and we had to get moved. The restaurant area was empty there was no welcome or atmosphere to make people want to eat there. Only one bath towel for two people and the hotel overall was a mess and very unwelcoming.

Rain was coming in around the window and it was running down the windowsill onto the wall.we had to use a towel to wipe the rain off the windowsill, to absorb the rainwater. We went to tell the receptionist, she told us just put a towel there we said we had and it’s soaking, she said it should be ok. I won’t be staying at this hotel again,

Good honest value for money. The room was nice, my only criticism would be the shower. There was just not enough water pressure to feed the sprinkler type shower head, so showering took a long time to wash the shampoo & body wash off! Breakfast was very good.

The good Clean room, comfortable bed, good shower, friendly and helpful staff The less good First room we checked into did not have any lights Next room we checked into had lights but the TV did not work. During the night, other guests made quite a bid of noise. This was not the hotels fault though. Probably a stag party and nice to see people having a good time but would have been nice if they had somehow been a bit quiter!
