Good stay

Our stay was good except for our check in where I got a bit frustrated. I understand that I came early but just disappointed that our room was not ready until after 2pm after a couple of follow ups. Had to wait more than 3 hours. The staff who assisted us was a trainee and I’m not sure if he is aware that accor members with gold status may be able to request for early check in. It doesn’t look like our room was given enough priority to be ready as soon as they can as we were unable to get our keys until after 2pm. I actually tried ringing before we even get there but the staff who answered said our room was not ready yet so I just came a bit later hoping that they can at least be able to organise for our room to be ready a bit earlier than 2pm. Also, I noticed that most of the staff in the reception were not that friendly like they should be. The only person I find approachable was Ya, who served us our drinks and took our lunch order at the bar. He is the only person who looks happy to serve during our check in. By the way the lunch that we ordered upon checking in were lovely especially the cassava cake and thank you for the special amenity provided in our room. Despite what happened at check in, we appreciate that we were able to avail for late check out the next day for an hour. During breakfast, we were happy with our food (except for no rice during that time but that’s ok) and the staff who greeted us when we came were very friendly and happy. Ya and Melanie are the staff who were there. Also our lunch the next day was also nice and the staff who served us at the bar were lovely.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is close to Cairns esplanade, lots of cafe, night market, and woolies. We loved the hotel buffet breakfast and lovely lunch.

Location is great. Walking distance to everywhere we needed to go - Night Market, Cairns Station, Lagoon, etc. Room condition is not the best but fair. There were ants near the door and the fridge, not sure why and where but it didnt affect us much. Easy access to room service with QR code. Pool is fantastic and the movie with popcorn was fantastic. All the staff were very friendly, except the one that did the check out. Was quite rude and impatient when I queried about the charge on the dinner (room service) which I already paid when ordering. After he found out he was wrong, he didnt apologise for questioning me. A litte disappointed to be treated that way upon check-out. Apart from that, everything was quite pleasant.
