Parking on arrival was tricky and it’s an uphill trek to reception. Our room was dated with a dirty stained carpet which had a hump in middle which was a trip hazard. The room was as far from reception as you can imagine, overlooking a blue metal container & a general dumping area. And why no guest laundry.. there were lots of families. If you’ve space for a games arcade, put in a guest laundry! I’m not sure if they see ‘Trailfinders’ on the booking and dump you in the shabbiest room but it certainly felt like it. The buffet breakfast was average for the cost, tables were sticky and all in we felt that this was not the impression a Fairmont would be trying to promote.

RIA!!! On Anzac Day no one had mentioned the breakfast sitting finished 30minutes early, as it was our last day we were disappointed with the lack of communication….we got to breakfast at 9.50am & told it was too late to attend, we got a coffee at the cafe just outside the breakfast buffet restaurant & ordered coffee with Ria who heard our story and walked us in to get fruit to have with our coffee and as we sat outside the breakfast restaurant. She was so kind and helpful And went above and beyond to make sure we had the best last day, she didn’t have to but she did! She was the highlight of our stay along with the friendly concierge, restraint and bar staff. There are some incredible team members that made our experience memorable - even to the Manager we had the pleasure of meeting one evening. Thank you for a lovely two days.

It was OK but checkin was lacklustre and dining options limited on a Monday night

We have stayed at Fairmont before but this time didn’t feel special. I had to ask for our drink vouchers, no water in room, charged for breakfast however this was sorted at checkout. We organised a high tea as it was my daughter’s 50th birthday but I would have to say it was the worst high tea I have ever had. No fresh sandwiches, no hot pastries what a shame . The fruit scones were over done in the microwave bottoms all hard. The booking was mixed up even though I had my emails for proof. Certainly not worth the money. We did however enjoy the food in the upstairs lounge and Karen was very good at her job. Room was satisfactory.
