We have stayed here before and it is a lovely location. Rooms are nice although they are very close together which is ok except when other guests have a get together on the balcony with no consideration for others. This should probably be told to guests on arrival that get togethers on balcony's is not allowed. The food and service at the boiler house is very nice as is the service.

Awesome venue, lacking a little thoughtfulness for guest experience

Arrived at night - no outside light left on and hazardous terrain to reach the door, instead of the staff leading us through the dark, dropped us and left with an 87yo in tow... could have been very dangerous. We were unable to book shuttle bus even though we had scheduled meal reservations. In one case we were standing out in the rain for 20 mins waiting for the 10min loop bus to pass and in another missed breakfast and the town bus. Even when called for a shuttle bus - as suggested 20 minutes early, the shuttle didnt arrive in time for us to have breakfast.

Nice relaxing stay, great food

We had a relaxing weekend strolling around the quarantine station grounds. We booked the stay and dine package and the Boilerhouse food was amazing and great value with the wine pairings. Breakfast was cozy but nice. The disappointment for us was the accomodadtion. I was expecting it to be fairly basic, but found it to still be underwhelming. The buildings are heritage listed and I realise there are limitations to how much work can be done, but a small amount of effort for example to upgrade the very basic bathroom would have gone a long way to making our stay feel a bit more special. We also booked a 'Harbour View' room, and while we are in the block closest to the harbour our view was almost fully blocked by trees. Still nice but we were expecting a bit better for the money and from the description.

Great weekend for the family to learn the history of the Quarantine Station. Lots of walking and relaxing.

Some substantial deficiencies in

We arrived in substantial rain and found the situation far from satisfactory, there needs to be a Porte cochere extending over the entrance door, so people can unload luggage from their car without getting saturated and all their luggage saturated. There also needs to be a covered walkway and a covered bus stop area, so people can walk from the reception area to the shuttle again without getting wet. I found the shuttle service painstaking to say the least involving lengthy waiting times only to find the shuttle when it arrives already full. The free to air television is simply not available, we were given a story by staff that because it is satellite, it doesn’t work in the wet weather, which in and by self is a condemnation of your efforts. But it turns out to be a lie because the next morning it was sunny and clear and the television still did not work on free to air. Apart from those items the place seems to be fairly well run, your accommodation was extremely basic but quite unique, I would not come back again, but I can understand some people who like to rough, it would find the location, peaceful and relaxing.
