Bedroom large comfortable beds evening meal food was amazing camembert to start followed by chicken tikka masala and rigatoni pasta Bolognese! All wonderful but the best was service 100% from Mr mian he was polite warm welcoming and just wonderful to start our holiday off thankyou

This hotel sadly is getting the unfortunate honour of getting my first 1 star rating. I have stayed in a fair few hotel and the standards here leave a very bad taste. I stayed for 2 nights during a business trip to the NEC. In terms of location, its ok to get to. From Birmingham International train station, there are stairs taking you to street level, followed by clear signage a 5 min walk to the hotel. From the NEC, its a little longer but an easily walkable distance. Upon arrival, there was a long queue with no option of a digital check in. Only 1 person serving customers and a significant lack of haste of the staff member. I was given a first floor room, with basic car park view. The room itself was big however clearly was no designed to be a hotel room. A old red sofa sits in the middle of 2 windows, but sits a foot away from the wall; reason for this is the long curtains will not close if its not. The desk also has a massive space behind it as it does not fit. The desk is also short; can fit a laptop at a push. The TV is a huge distance from the bed, you may need to glasses just to see it. Only positive with the room was the bathroom, nice fitting, with walk in shower. The restaurant downstairs served basic food. The breakfast is served from 7am to 10am. I find this a little late for a conference centre and airport hotel; in my view this needs to open earlier. The breakfast was very basic, with your standard offering of full english and continental options, however the baskets/hot plates are often empty and again no haste to refill. I found it also does no start on time, with plates starting to be filled about 7:10 onwards. My final qualm is the key cards. On both days after breakfast the keycard fails and you have to go to reception to get it reset. Very inconvinient. An extremely disappointing stay, with customer service, room layout and food issues that need addressing if this hotel wants to improve. Check out other options first when visiting the NEC.......
