We stayed at a Pampineau room. Service was great, but the rooms itself was mediocre. Temperature control was inconsistent, amenities were average, and it definitely showed its age.

Beautiful site and central common space. Horrible room.

The site is beautiful and the common central space is amazing. We enjoyed spending time outside and having a drink in the common area with the fireplace (gorgeous). We booked a king room with a jacuzzi, but nowhere it was indicated that these rooms felt like a dungeon and were in the basement. We asked to switch room after seeing. However, the state of the second room was also disconcerting for a place that we thought prestigious. The paint in the bathroom was peeling and the ceiling looked moldy. The shower was really small and old. The furniture was really old and faded as well. Renovation need to be carried out. We should have asked for a third room, but by then I didn't want to ruin our arrival so we decided to keep it and spend our time in the common area. I wouldn't recommend to stay at the Chateau Montebello, but only to visit the site.

We enjoyed our visit/stay at the Fairmont Le Château Montebello very much. The location was great and the service was outstanding. We did have an issue with our bill but the issue was resolved within several days.

I have stayed at Montebello no less that 20 times. The lunch and breakfast buffets were not even close to previous years. I bet you know that. One issue I have always had with the Chateau: there should be complementary tea and coffee in the main lobby, particularly in the morning. Add an additional cost to the room if necessary, but the absence of this service is notable when it is offered at Best Western and Holiday Inn. To pay for a coffee is simply gouging. BTW: my room was very nice, recently renovated and very comfortable.
