Building site

Whist staying at the hotel there was no foremention of this being a building site .I did have an email dates 19/03/24 stating that there is refurbishment but no mention as stated a full building site .I had paid full price for the use of the full facilities e.g gym etc but there was no mention of this not being available .Also there no was place for being able to sit outside as I had the previous year .I would have used the bar facility more if this was available .Also the noise within the hotel was ridiculous with workmen banging hammering and drilling from 8am in the morning One of the rooms on the level where I was at was also being used as an office and workmen coming and going and the floors were an absolute disgraced with dust getting transferred from the workmen .There as also heavy plant machinery moving back and forward with no traffic management plan in place for people coming and going from the hotel .I really think this is a disgrace that I had to sustain this for 6 nights with hardly any facilities available in the hotel and paying full price .There we’re others that we had travelled with feeling the same .Paying full price for a 4 star hotel whilst all this was going on is certainly not what I would expect from any company . I would say though that your staff was very helpful and polite when asked about anything .In fact some of the staff remember me from last year . A reply to this email would be greatly appreciated and in my opinion it would be better to close the hotel and get the refurbishment done properly and you would not then be subjected to emails like this

I have stayed with you at this hotel before. I was extremely disappointed to find that almost the whole facilities in the hotel were closed due to tye building works and the quality of the rooms had deteriorated badly since my last visit. Whilst I understand the pressure to keep earning income whilst the work is ongoing I think communicating the extent of the work being carried out would have allowed me to make an informed decision. No proper bar/restaurant facilities. No proper bfast facilities. This might have been bearable if the rooms had been updated but they hadn't and were incredibly dusty, due to the work going on, as well has having dirty,threadbare carpets and outdated bathroom facilities. On my last night in Barcelona I moved to a different hotel, as you had no rooms available when I booked, this hotel had all facilities open with modern rooms and cost less than the av nightly rate you were charging. Considering the work you have going on the average nighly rate should be c€100 not €150 you are charging The location of your hotel is more suitable to my itinerary when in Barcelona but I will now have to consider other options when in that area, which is disappointing. I raised these concerns with the staff on check-in and periodically throughout the week and I must say they are doing an excellent job in very difficult circumstances. Overall I was very disappointed with my stay this time.
