The worst experience with Novotel I have had so far

I think it's the first time I actually have to complain on my Novotel stay and there's been so many (I'm a Gold member). Firstly, we arrived to find out the restaurant's out of service for all the guests - there was no information prior to our arrival. The room service took 30 mins to take the order (they were supposed to call us back to get the order, they haven't for another half an hour); we were restricted to the limited menu despite it was still the restaurant's working hours. Then, since the connecting rooms were not ready (the door between them was still locked), the receptionist came into the room without knocking - she just let herself in. I've never had any employee entering my room without knocking first - this shouldn't have happened. The next morning the cleaning service woke us up by loud banging on the door (before 8am) - despite the fact it was our checkout day.

Great location. Near the zoo and Tiergarten park. Near the main shopping street. Right next to a tube station though you cant hear it through the windows. Breakfast was great. Only issue was the fold out bed was a bit uncomfortable but otherwise perfect.

Check-in was straight forward but as we were unpacking our clothes, I received a call that there was a problem with my payment. On returning to the reception, I was told that I had not left my payment card details to pay for our stay. I opened my bank app and showed the gentlemen on reception that I had paid in full for our 5 day stay. He then checked with someone in the back office and they found that I had paid the bill in full. Also the standard wifi is not fit for purpose as I had to login every day as it was obviously reset every 24 hours.
