*EXTERIOR BUILDING UPGRADE*
We are pleased to announce that Novotel Surfers Paradise will be undergoing an exterior building upgrade from 15 April 2024. This will involve painting and other works on the outside of our accommodation tower. Works will be conducted in stages and any guest rooms close to the area of work at the time will be taken out of order to ensure the guest experience is unaffected.

Well located allowing you to quickly navigate city centre via foot. Amazing quality & presentation of food (fantastic variety), lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, lively clean modern rooms with super comfortable beds. Would stay here again.

We were upgrade as per the Accor Plus membership tier so that was good. Other than that there was nothing that met expectations. Was a very average hotel with average amenities. The family room which we were upgraded to had sink that was too high for a child, all the shampoo, conditioner, body soap dispensers were too high for a child to reach. It was not kid friendly at all. We told housekeeping that our hairdryer does not work and that we have left it on the floor to be replaced. The housekeeping staff never brought back a new hairdryer. When we tried to request a late checkout which is something that is offered to Accor Plus members, we were met with very rude staff. When I queried "I thought the late checkout was a guaranteed late check as part of the benefits of gold tier Accor Plus" the loyalty manager replied with "I am a diamond member and I don't even get guaranteed late checkout". Really unprofessional and acceptable responses from staff. The staff were inconsistent with answers, we asked one staff if we could order food downstairs and have it delivered to the pool area, the staff said yes and we paid for the order. Then another staff came to deliver the food said, because you are getting 50% off on your Accor Plus membership we do not deliver food just so you know for next time. In the breakfast buffet, the first day the staff was able to make customised omelette, the second day when we asked, the staff said you can only have the two flavours on offer. This is also the first hotel that I have been to in the last 10 plus years that did provide complimentary water in the rooms. We were told to drink tap water or purchase water from the vending machines on level 5. Just a suggestion - we recently stayed at the Reef House in Palm Cove and they also did not have water bottles due to limiting plastic. However, they offered empty glass bottles fro you to go and fill water from a filtered tap both still and sparkling. There's ways to go about conservation, rather than just cutting costs and not giving guests any options. Overall my stay at the Novotel Surfers Paradise was far from enjoyable and we will never book this hotel again. We've stayed at other Novotel hotels - Geelong, Barossa Valley etc and they have not been this bad.

I arrived to find out that my Accor Membership wasn't added to the System. For the blonde girl at checkin it seemed all too hard to add my number. I then didn't get a room upgrade. no drinks voucher, no diamond package in room and I was left off the list for breakfast. I saw her again the next morning and asked if my number had been added, again was told she as busy and no time. I asked for a printout of the invoice, because she has to process it all again too hard and better for me to go back to my company for it.
