Hotel did not have the correct booking It was a hot day an evening and air conditioning did not work in either of the two bedrooms that we were offered. The ‘superior’ refurbished room was very tired with scuffed paint work Dirty plates and empty wine bottles were left outside of f our room in the corridor

Nice staff but super uncomfortable bed

The staff were very friendly at check in / out and the hotel lobby was nice. however the location of the hotel was very far out, there wasn’t many cafes, restaurants or shops nearby unless you walked 20 minutes. Also lots of construction going on around the hotel. The main reason for my low rating was my room and bed. I was staying alone, yet they put me in a room with two single beds. The beds were tiny, I would say about the size of a bed in boarding school. Also the pillows and bed were super uncomfortable, so much so that i woke up multiple times during the night and had a restless sleep and then woke up with neck pain. Additionally in a 4 star hotel, I would expect some amenities provided but there was nothing except hand and body wash. Overall, it’s an okay hotel but definitely wouldn’t be classifying it a 4 star hotel.

We are sorry that you did not appreciate the location of the hotel. To get to the hyper centre of Bordeaux, you had the option of taking the bus which stops 20 metres from our hotel and could therefore get to Place Tourny in 15 minutes. I'm sorry that we weren't able to tell you about the Chartrons market 10 minutes' walk from the hotel, which has many cafés and restaurants and is in a typical Bordeaux district. With regard to your room, we regret that the bed layout did not meet your expectations. Our single beds are larger than the standard size (1mx2m instead of 0.90mx1.90m) and were changed at the beginning of February, which may explain their firmness. The Mercure brand has decided to switch its soaps and shampoos to dispenser format in the room and to stop offering mini products in the interests of the environment. As a result, you will no longer find any mini-size products at Mercure. We look forward to welcoming you back and providing you with a better experience. too hot, no AC was possible. a bathrobe was scratched.

Stayed for second time in the Hotel Mercury Chateau Chartrons at Bordeaux, France. Newly refurbished room with nice queen size bed and comfortable bathroom. Quiet with two windows you can open as requested. Nice feeling all around in the room. On a closer look, and if you are picky, some decoration finishes might have been done better (finger prints on new paint, wall paper not cut or glued properly on the edges…). But as said, good enough feeling for the price.
