I have stayed in Sofitels everywhere and always look for them as an option as they signify quality…until now I was staying two weeks and on day three it took over five minutes for hot water to come through the shower, after it didn’t I had to take a cold shower..I told front desk…there was no follow up. 3 days later the same thing ending in a like warm shower, this time after telling them maintenance were sent up….no follow up though or mention from management. A day later I was about to get in bed after a long day, it was around 11pm and I smelt a terrible smell…coming from the bed. I smelt the sheets which were new and found it was coming from the under blanket or comforter…I tried the other side, same thing. I tried calling from desk but no phone lines weee working…so I used my cell to call the hotel (no apology or follow up on this matter) they sent someone to change the sheets after I explained it wasn’t the sheets…I asked them to take away the under blankets which were disgustingly dirty…I could then smell the matter itself which was awful…I tried calling down, again same problem with the phones and they kindly put me I. The room next door which was fine…other than the inconvenience. I swapped rooms for the remainder of the stay but again I never heard from management or anyone to follow up or to acknowledge the inconvenience.

The room was fine, but loads of construction, and no water for many hours during my stay. I requested a free stay but was given just a small deduction from my bill. Can't charge $600+ a night when you have all that construction, and no water in the hotel for a extended period of time..

The lack of a reasonable work desk in the room (a cocktail high top is not usable or comfortable), plus the limited number of electrical and/or USB plugs is quite insufficient for this day and age.

Over all it was a pleasant stay. However, my wife and I were out for our date night and when we arrived at the hotel we were expecting a grand lobby at valet. Instead we were able to valet the car but had to walk around the hotel to enter the building. Then we had to talk the elevators to the second floor to check in. There were no clear signs on where to go. Check in was great. The staff was friendly and the process was fast. When we arrived to our room we found that the room was not properly cleaned. There were used slippers by the bed, receipts and a note by the night stand, and a paper coffee cup with lipstick on it by the tv stand along with a shopping bag. We went back to check in desk and they immediately changed our room and upgraded us to a suite. My issues are that the hotel is under construction and it was not mentioned on the website upon booking. It was inconvenient to have to walk around the building with our bags to get into the hotel, and the bar and restaurant advertised were not open. Had I known this in advance, I would have not booked here.
