disappointing hotel

Not a 4 star hotel . We had a party booking for 20 for 4 nights through Tailor Travel. The door entry card system was faulty so we had to make repeated visits to reception to get the cards activated.. Staff did apologise. Our first night included buffet dinner- the food was warm and not enough for the two groups who had booked in. The drinks were expensive and we had no waiter service so had to order from the bar. Breakfast food was a little better buffet service but no plate warmer switched on except one morning. A convenient location near the city centre but not one to recommend.

No clean irons - damaged clothing

Room was fine, clean and comfortable. Used the iron which ruined my shirt as the iron was filthy. Asked for a change of iron and was provided another iron the lady said was also dirty and i should "iron over a pillow case" which didn't work. So i ended up with a ruined shirt, late for work with a wrinkled shirt. Terrible for a hotel with regular business travel, myself and my business spend tens of thousands on hotels in Liverpool and i couldn't recommend using again for me or for them.

Good location and polite staff but otherwise poor.

This is our third night here with a group of 22. On arrival we were given complimentary drinks vouchers with our keycards. I presented it tonight asking for a glass of house red, as the voucher offered. It was refused. The lady (Valentina) said she was the manager and the offer was only redeemable when we booked in. I pointed out that it didn't say so (see photo attached). It had my name on it even. She shrugged and walked away. Whatever happened to customer service? I know it's petty and, other than that, the staff are helpful and polite. The room is okay, breakfast basic but no worries. It has all been damned by the stupidity of management. Leaves a bad taste.
