We had a wonderful stay! The staff were all lovely and really looked after us. The buffet dinner and breakfast were both delicious, lots of choice. We did not have dinner included but it was €45 each if we wanted. This meant we could go into Dubrovnik old town to eat if we wanted. We had 2 days of beautiful weather, so we went out and about. The third day was awful, windy and rainy, but thanks to hotel facilities, we spent all day there comfortably; leisurely breakfast, workout at the gym, chill out in the wonderful spa, swim in the indoor pool, then dinner. The Old Town was walkable, a 20 stroll - easy and downhill on the way in, uphill on the way back, so we got a taxi back sometimes. We had a sea view room which was totaloy worth it for the stunning views. Beds were incredibly comfy and made it hard to wake up for breakfast. I can’t wait to come back!

Absolute nightmare - safety and financial fairness concerns

This review has been due for some time now but we’ve been traumatised by our experience with the hotel and it took us time to even be able to write about it. The extend of the issues and total failure by hotel stuff/ customer service manager to address them was just shocking in a lot of ways. If I could give a zero rating, I would have done it 100%. We were staying at Rixos Dubrovnik from the 30th of April to the 5th of May 2023. In fact, the occasion for our stay was nothing less but our wedding. We loved Dubrovnik and came all the way from Australia. We stayed at this hotel a year prior (May 2022) and really enjoyed it, so we decided it would be great to choose it as a base for our wedding week. We had a large booking (9 rooms!) and my partner is an Accor diamond tier member which (along with the occasion) we hoped would ensure us a warm treatment… how wrong were we! The most critical issues listed below: 1. Firstly, I would like to highlight a serious safety issue we encountered during our stay and sadly a victim of this was grandmother. A day before our wedding she slipped at the balcony and broke her pelvis. It was raining that day but still the floors were extremely wet and inadequately slippery to a level it’s a safety concern. The tiles at the room balconies are extremely slippery, we made a comparison with outdoor areas and the second hotel we stayed at and the difference is obvious. We also collected feedback within our group and everyone commented that they the struggled to walk and keep balance at the room balconies during rainy days to them being extremely slippery. I personally almost slipped on our balcony and narrowly avoided serious injuries. In addition, drainage doesn’t work properly on the balconies, even a day after the rains stopped, there were wet areas remaining (we have taken photos as a proof). Proper maintenance and attention to detail are essential in upholding the luxurious standards that are expected from a five-star hotel. Importantly, there are no warnings or safety signs to address this issue and notify people of a danger. Now, whilst my grandmother is quite obviously not young, she is physically fit and extremely stable, she lives independently, does a lot of house and garden work and never falls. This blatant disregard for guest safety is unacceptable and tarnishes the reputation of your hotel. We tried to discuss this issue with a customer service manager (a middle aged man, I can’t recall the name but was surprised to see someone like this as a customer service manager) but he was very rude to us and impatiently said this is not a hotel responsibility. The only thing he offered was one free dinner room service for my grandmother which was delivered an hour late and then upon check out the hotel tried to charge it back to us. When we disagreed with his position on the matter, he promised to speak to the hotel General Manager and get back to us but we never hear anything back and in fact never seen him again. So he didn’t even bother to check in and see how we are doing after the accident. 2. We were shocked that complete indifference and absence of any concern or attention by hotel staff when the ambulance came to take my grandmother to the hospital with the above issue. No offer to help, no attempt to ask what happened, no sympathy or kind words (it was a day before our wedding and hotel stuff was well aware of it but not even one person approached us and said they were sorry about what happened!). Not whist it was happening, not after. The hotel didn’t even a wheelchair immediately available upon her return and when we were given one, it was broken! It’s a terrible attitude for hospitality overall but on top of it you are a 5 star expensive hotel… I don’t think I encountered such indifference and cold response in my life ever. For a comparison, a hotel where we stayed after (Valamar President) had a wheelchair available immediately upon our arrival, provided room for my grandmother with an easy access next to our rooms, offered breakfast for her in her room without us asking etc (side note – they have amazing friendly accommodating stuff and warm service and adequate tiles on the balconies, I truly regret we didn’t stay there for the whole period) 3. Another shock was waiting for us upon checking out, we were shocked to discover that I had been overcharged for various services and amenities by somewhat in a range of 700-800 euro(!!!). The final bill had various issues, including incorrect room rates, charges that were not incurred during our stay, charges related to other guests’ rooms, charges that could not be traced to any invoices or signed checks. The aforementioned dinner for my grandmother was charged to us as well which is in financial terms isn’t major but such a poor human attitude. Attempts to rectify the situation with the front desk staff were met with indifference and lack of cooperation. It took almost 2 hours of our holiday time in total to get this sorted. We raised it upon check out in the morning but it was taking a lot of time for staff to resolve it and we were running late for a cruise so we agreed to deal with this when we are back from the cruise. I insisted that responsible staff check all the charges while we are away so that we close it quickly upon our return and not waste more time because we are on holiday, we are a big group with my grandmother in a wheelchair and they’ll all have to wait for us. Staff member totally ignored my request and when we came back he adjusted a couple of items we initially picked up but didn’t check anything else. When I started questioning other items and why he didn’t check anything, he said: “I didn’t think there will be anything else, so I didn’t check”. When we expressed our concerns with the whole situation and attitude, he said “I’m sorry but nothing I can do”. In the end we had to sit with another staff member (Hasena) and spend a considerable amount of time vouching every single item to the checks and bills. Some items didn’t have any support at all and hotel stuff couldn’t explain it. Total overcharged amount was in a range of 700 to 800 euro. This is just unacceptable! What if we trusted hotel’s honesty and didn’t check the bill?? This blatant overcharging reflects poorly on the integrity and fairness of the hotel. 4. Now remember, this was our wedding week. We came all the way from Australia because we loved the town. Very special occasion for us and our family and a rather expensive one by the way. We reached out to hotel in advance in an attempt to make some prior arrangements and address questions and ensure the week will be smooth and enjoyable. Totally ignored. We asked for rooms to be next to each other for my side of the family (because we had a kid with us), your hotel didn’t even bother to make a note of it and accommodate. We were all given rooms on different floors but when my partners’ parents arrived the same day, they were allocated a room next to my bridesmaid which was unnecessary. So basically our request could have been accommodated but was just neglected. I reached out in advance about my wedding dress steaming and hanging arrangements, not a single stuff member followed up on this, I had to explain it all over and over again to reception. When we arrived, there was no offer to help from any staff member. Even on the wedding day (which a lot of staff knew about), no one even bothered to say a simple congratulations. My partner’s mum had to go and ask to send some sparkling wine to our room because she didn’t want us to feel neglected and hotel didn’t bother to show any even simple gesture to recognise our special day. I literally approached a reception on the wedding day and asked for some extra keys because it’s our wedding day – she gave me the keys but didn’t bother even to say a sentence to acknowledge this special occasion. 5. In addition, my partner is an Accor diamond tier member (which we notified hotel in the very first email) and we were entitled for a room upgrade and usually in all Accor hotels the treatment is a bit more special due to a higher tier level. It was completely ignored as well, even though it was discussed with your stuff in advance of our arrival, including potential room upgrade. What’s more important we were not even credited the points for this rather expensive stay which we were entitled to. Unfortunately, when I finally recovered from this whole nightmare, it was too late to submit any claims ourselves. Another example of indifference and neglecting the guests. 6. There were less significant issues, I wouldn’t generally even bother providing feedback on those, like poor water pressure in the showers, average cleaning with dust not wiped properly etc. But compared to above, this is just nothing, to be honest I wouldn’t bother to ruin my wedding week memories over it, although generally speaking room maintenance is not 5 star. In summary, I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you have children or elderly people coming due to safety concerns or if you have a special occasion (they will not care). If you decide to stay, always thoroughly check your bill. We stayed at President Valamar hotel for the second half of our trip and absolutely loved it, staff is great and welcoming, no safety issues and fabulous location.

Wow!! What a gem!! This hotel is fabulous. The views are spectacular, the rooms are comfy and the staff were excellent. It's an easy 20 min walk to the old town from here, so a great location. We were so lucky with the weather, and had a glorious time drinking cocktails on the terrace (awesome views), and chilling by the pool, in between heading into town to explore. Food and drink at the hotel is relatively pricey....but to be expected. The breakfast buffet is great..... plan to hang out for a leisurely breakfast (on the terrace if weather is good), sipping on lattes and prosecco (! yep - included in the breakfast buffet!) Fantastic local restaurant Maskeron is well worth a visit too, just 5 mins around the corner. Book it.

What a great run hotel from the minute you arrive till you leave. Every staff member was cheerful and friendly. Rooms were equipped with everything you needed. Cleaned everyday,Beds were super comfy. Went for a week and spent two days in hotel, it was so relaxing with the indoor pool and the spa area. The scenery from hotel is breathtaking. The food plenty to choose from you would never starve, section for gluten free annd vegetarians ,although sometimes slightly colder than I would like. My only negative point would be the drinks are overpriced €52 for a bottle of wine €11 for a pint of beer. We ate in a nice restaurant in town a bottle of the same wine was €30. Great walk along the coast takes 15-20 minutes and we used the Uber app for our return €4. We hired a car for two days which you can hire from inside the hotel. Thank you Rixos and staff for a lovely hotel can’t wait to visit another one !!

1) 8 out of 10 of your staff, especially those working in Terqoiuse, don't seem happy at work. They seemed overworked. 2) case in point, a girl working at the spa had to singlehandedly clean big heavy lounge chair mattress at the pool by herself, after working so hard within the spa. 3) You unnecessarily invested so much to upgrade your elevator to one used in office buildings meant for crowded elevator usage, but 100% of the time, your elevator was never crowded. On the other hand, you stinge on refurbishing your rooms. Tiles were old and cracking, TVs were small compared to the size of the room. Only one basin instead of two, for such a big suite room. 4) Pillows were overdosed with laundry fresher scent, it was so chokingly fragrant, I couldn't even breathe, let alone fall asleep. 5) I am always offered welcome drinks as an Accor Plus member, by Novotel, Swissotel, Pullman, even the lowest end of the hotel group, like Ibis, in the form of a voucher, which I can then choose to redeem at the pool, hotel bar, etc, with a selection of cocktail or hot beverages. For such a high end brand like Rixos Premium, you only offered me a cheap glass of orange juice I can get off the shelf from a supermarket, and only at the check in stage. Do you need to let your customers know you are doing cost cutting the moment they check in? Complimentary side of the hotel: jacuzzi works well, shower water was hot and of good pressure, bed mattress was comfortable, vicinity was well kept and clean.
