A child friendly hotel. I would like to thank the entire Rixos Sungate family for helping us have a wonderful holiday with my 3-year-old son and sister. Although Rixos Sungate, which has a very large area, was very crowded due to the holiday, we had no problems in terms of cleanliness. The food was also very delicious and diverse. We are so excited for the next trip! :)

Amazing hotel with loads of pools, rooms are cleaned everyday & fresh towels. Only thing is aircon was still at a high temp & we found it too hot, hotel offered a fan which was helpful. Food was good loads of variety. Loads of bars with good drinks & premium alcohol.

Good Holiday but could be much better

On our arrival there was less than satisfactory welcome due to lack of staff and took over an hour to have our bags delivered to our rooms. Our Marine Suite was better than expected, highly delighted, would have been better if the mini bar could stock Gin and Vodka. Hotel facilities were as described, good selection of activities. Marine bar was excellent but could be even better if snacks were added so guests didn't have to walk into the main area. Food offering was disappointing, this is where the hotel could improve the most, the buffet main didn't offer much variation from day to day, there was no fresh fruit juices on offer, very repetitive. A La Carte Restaurants, menus could offer a wider selection and expensive for what you receive. Bloom Restaurant on the other hand was the jewel in the crown, best experience of our stay at Rixos but no free wine on offer unlike the rest of Rixos. Two days before departing our room wasn't cleaned but there was a general letter demanding prepayment for our two restaurant meals, I have never received a such upsetting letter from a hotel in my like. Rixos know my name and that I reside in the UK but decide to issue unwarranted letter, this left a bitter taste. All comments are based on the fact that Rixos Sungate is marketed as a 5 Star Hotel, at present I would only give 3 1/2 stars compared with all the other 5 star hotels we have previously stayed at and hence my overall rating of 7.

From the moment we arrived at check in we were greeted by a very strong smell of cigarettes in the hotel lobby and the service agent at check in just smiled about it. Fast track to room upgrade, they put us a different room that what we booked, supposedly because it’s bigger but with twin beds - for a family. Forgive this and move to restaurant experience, almost none of the waiters spoke English making it almost impossible to get any help. Unending that the population and country is not an English speaking country, the staff at some point just ignored us and would just run to serve everyone around us even people who would sit 5 minutes after we had arrived and still waiting for assistance. Also, no one at the entire resort was able to tell us where to redeem our welcome drinks vouchers from Accor until the last night of our stay. We regretted splitting our stays between Istanbul and Antalya so much because of the experience at Rixos whereas we had an amazing time at Sofitel in Istanbul.

One of the best holiday we ever had

We chose it for Ramadan holiday. We had an incredibly enjoyable time. There were wonderful workshops for our children at the Kids Club, we couldn't resist and entered the workshops with them. There were carnivals and shows for children in the evenings, they were great too. The food was above our expectations. We are not used to such tastes in crowded hotels. There were concerts with evening artists. Unfortunately, on the last day, our son fell off the scooter because he was driving too fast and hit his head. The hotel staff and kids club staff were so caring that we cannot thank them all enough. They took care of our oldest son while we were in the emergency room. They constantly supported us in every way. We left one day late because we were under observation. We would especially like to thank Ms. Melike, who works in guest relations. She was always on call and helped us with whatever we asked for. Thank you for caring about it as if it had happened to your own child. Our son is fine now, thank God, we got through this process, we wanted to thank all the hotel staff again 🙏🙏🙏🙏
