The Banyan Tree in Yangshuo is a meticulously designed property. You are instantly transported to a different world the moment you enter and can be sure that you will be well taken care of. There are plenty of activities to do in the hotel itself and the property tend to attract families with small kids more so than couples. We think that the charm and high quality of the hotel more than justify the higher price of this place. Don't miss the beautiful pool while you are there.

Amazing resort with wonderful view and staff

This is a beautiful resort right by Li river, with wonderful views. The room and amenities are very comfortable. The staff here are very friendly, accommodating and helpful. We have the hotel arrange the transportation for us roaming around Yangshou to take bamboo raft, which has stunning views. Highly recommended. Two tips: 1. Get a riverside villa if you can, very much worth the extra cost. 2. Take bamboo raft at Yulong river and XingPing. The routes here have the best picturesque view.

Great stay at Banyan Tree Yangshu

This is a beautiful resort nestled in between gorgeous Karst scenery and is located on the banks of the serene Li river (away from the hustle and bustle of central Yangshuo). We liked the fact that this resort is away from central Yangshuo as it made for a peaceful stay. However, this may be a negative for some people who want to stay close to the city centre and shopping streets. The resort is self sustained and even has its own bamboo rafts which we duly used for a bamboo rafting adventure which departed from the resort’s own jetty on the Li river. Staff was great and ensured that all our needs were well taken care of. There were tons of activities for our 6 year old son like a painting class, bubble making session, peacock feeding, alpaca feeding, kids club etc. Overall, I would give 5 stars to this resort. Everything was up to the usual Banyan Tree standards

2.5 yo child fell into a well - and no response from hotel management

July 16th 2022 at 19:32, we had dinner at the hotel with our family. Our child wanted to look at the ducklings and we went for a walk inside the hotel property. While we were walking on grass, our child fell into a well, which has a man-hole lid on top, but it was almost like a trash-can flip top. Our child FELL INSIDE THE WELL but fortunately was stuck between the lid and the outer edge of the well. She cut her lip and most importantly, very frightened and could not stop crying from shock. We had asked for a hotel management to explain and sort out the follow up, but a lady with a name tag : Rihanna He said there is currently no Hotel GM, we had asked for anyone with authority to resolve this issue and explain why a 5* hotel would have maintenance issues as serious as this. We have a video of the man-hole and of our child crying by the scene. Travelers beware, we still have not received any formal response from the hotel as we had to remove our daughter from her trauma and head back to our hotel. We are glad she did not fall further down the hole. absolutely unforgivable, 5* star experience. We checked out from the hotel 2 days ago to change to another hotel, glad we are not staying there anymore.

In Yangshuo verbleven wij met ons gezin bestaande uit 6 personen 3 nachten in het Banyan Tree hotel. De moderne kamers zijn gesitueerd in gebouwen die over het terrein verspreid staan. De badkamers zijn door verschuifbare wanden van het slaapgedeelte af te scheiden. Dat is niet zo handig als 2 teenagers (jongen en meisje) samen een kamer moeten delen. Het hotel is gelegen aan de rivier de Li, maar dat zie je pas als je bij het buitenzwembad komt. Dat is jammer want de omgeving is erg mooi. Het zwembad is trouwens erg klein en er zijn weinig bedden om op te liggen. Ook is er een poolbar, maar deze was steeds gesloten toen wij er waren. Er zijn 2 restaurants, een westers en een chinees. Tijdens ons verblijf hebben wij 's avonds alleen in het westerse restaurant gegeten, omdat wij elke dag al een Chinese lunch voorgeschoteld kregen.
