The hotel is in a good location within Linz and has some good facilities such as the pool and fitness room, however during my one night stay it was being refurbished and rather than completing one entire floor, checking the completeness and then opening the floor they seem to be doing it bit by bit. The elevator opened out to a corridor that was still being renovated, shabby carpet, paint half finished, painting equipment out, workers still there at 21h30 - first impression was 0/1, however, The room itself, however, was quite nice and you could tell it was recently renovated because you can still smell the paint. For some reason they have gone for a stucco finish on wall opposite the bed and this puts me off as it looks unfinished and is also a dust collector. The bed and bed linen I found to be very comfortable but the bare wood effect floor was not very welcoming. The bed is not centred in the room which means that there was a space between the window and the bed just crying out for a comfortable chair. There is a plug socket to one side of the bed but not the other and the light switches are on the headboard in the middle of the bed which I found a little bizarre. There is a decent desk with a plug switch to the right but all the switches could have done with having USB and USB C ports on the tem for added charging capability. The air con was ineffective. The curtain did not fit the window so there was a 30 cm gap either side for the sun to shone through in the morning or evening - in April this wasn't a major issue but come June or July..... The en-suite was very nice with a decent walk in shower (although why they didn't fit a rain shower rather than hand held I will never understand) and decent sized wash basin, but for some reason there were no hand towels which is annoying when you have to use the batch towels after washing your hands The entrance vestibule has a strange drawer and shelf arrangement which doesn't seem to serve a purpose and they have removed the door which would have led into the bedroom but not the architrave surround so it just looks a bit shabby. Overall I would say that they could have done a better job and overall the finish is just OK and judging by the remarks from my 2 colleagues I just can not believe that anyone from the management team signs the rooms off as finished before selling them to the public. This is the only IBIS Styles I have stayed in over the past 10 years where breakfast is not included in the prices of the room (unless you are Diamond Accor Member) and at 17€ it is at least 10€ overpriced for the selection and quality of food in my opinion. Overall I would not rush back to this hotel.

Several floors were construction sites (only single rooms usable on those floors, remainder under construction). Dust, noise, dirt, etc, as one would expect. While booking, no information on that.

it was being repaired all night, hellish noise above our room, until 11:55 p.m. Dust everywhere. I can not believe . I had come to rest, but I did not rest. A tragedy. I will never visit your hotels again

Room in a building site

Being given a recently renovated room was great until it became clear the room was in an area that was still a building site. It was too late for me to go back and ask for a swap, I just need to get sorted do my outstanding work a d go to bed. Also, the room wasn’t really ready to be occupied, curtain wasn’t the right size, shower gel and soap bottles empty. To boot building work continued until 2230hrs. On check in I had to prompt reception staff that I was a silver member and when I said I’ll decide on the morning on whether to take breakfast, no comment was made about pre paying for it or having my credit logged so I could book it to the room. All in all I won’t be going back to this hotel unless this is the last option. It isn’t a new Hotel, so surprised the staff were making basic errors and their approach to guests.
