Great base in Normandy

This was a great place to stay while we explored Normandy. Bayeux Is a pretty little town, with restaurants, stores, and plenty of excursion choices. The hotel is located on the outskirts of the downtown about a 20 minute walk from everything. It was clean, and breakfast was delicious. What more could you ask for? I wish I had her name, but special kudos go to the desk clerk, who is extraordinarily helpful and friendly. I understand she is training to be a guide, and she’s going to make a great one.

Charging extra for non consumed breakfast, be careful!

Based on reviews we skipped breakfast. We explicitly mentioned this while checking in. To my surprise they still charged me extra for the breakfast. Hotel doesn’t respond to mail. When I call them to reclaim the money they promise to correct it (which they don’t). I hate to chase them over this during my holiday. My advise is to not trust fast check out and pay close attention during check out. Thought that Novotel wouldn’t play these tricks. Highly disappointed. Be careful.

Friendly Staff but Poor Record Keeping

Great staff that troubleshot several issues with my sightseeing in the area for me. Rooms were clean, comfortable and excellent overall. My issue was with the food service, specifically the breakfast service. They charge your room when you take breakfast. You're supposed to give them your room number and then go and eat. When I got my receipt, I was charged for 8 meals but had only consumed 4. After a long, frustrating back and forth, I received only a partial refund. The dates they claimed I ate were completely wrong (with a single exception). Really spoiled the otherwise pleasant experience.

Staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. We ate in the restaurant. It was very good. Wine very expensive though. Easy walk into the town. Our room was good. My only concern is the separate very small toilet with the handbasin being in the main bathroom next door which is a hygiene issue imo. In all other respects we enjoyed our stay and would return.
