Many problems with Sofitel Magnificent Mile

I'm a Platinum member of the loyalty program and stay at many Sofitels across the globe. I've never encountered so many different problems as with Chicago. First, while I had a Signature Suite, with plenty of room in total, the hanging space in the closet was literally two feet wide at most, and much of it was taken up with an ironing board and an iron. I had to move both out into the main room, but the apparatus to hang the iron still blocked part of the space. My wife and I were there for only one day, but I still couldn't hang up all my clothes, which is ridiculous for a suite in a high-end hotel. This was clearly terrible hotel design, but could still have been fixed by including an armoire in the room, so current management is to blame, not just the designer. Second, my wife is allergic to dairy products and was, in the end, unable to eat from the room service menu. Even some dishes marked as "Vegan" turn out to have butter or other dairy products mixed in and the food was prepared in advance (not generally great for a high-end hotel either), so it couldn't be prepared without dairy. Third, before we got to that point, I was trying to figure out in advance if we could use room service for lunch and/or dinner, which was one point of having the nice suite. However, the app you have to use for room service only shows you the meal available at that time, which was still breakfast. Again, why do it this way? Fourth, the shower worked very badly. It was impossible for my wife to get the heat of the water anywhere close to right. Very small movements on the dial changed the heat considerably and even when it was left in one place, the temperature would jump around. Fifth, to avoid this problem I used the bath tub. This worked fine, except that no shampoo or conditioner was available, since they were locked into position in the shower, so I couldn't move them to the bath. Again, terrible design. Sixth, when I met a colleague downstairs, the hotel was completely out of hot chocolate, which is otherwise available. Nor was the server particularly apologetic for this. Seventh, the bill when I checked out showed a dollar value for the suite night coupon I used, but did it in such a way that it's been complicated to explain to my employer that I only needed reimbursement for the actual dollar outlay, which did not include this amount. Obviously, none of these problems are huge, but none of them are acceptable in a Sofitel.
