How can one person ruin a stay… I arrived to the hotel at 20:55 on Sunday, after booking by phone with the central reservation office. When I entered the lobby, nobody was at the desk or around the lobby. After waiting for 5 real minutes, I went outside. A gentleman was working on his computer on the terrace, so I asked if he was an employee of the hotel — he was a guest. After another minute outside, I came back inside and trying calling the hotel. The phone at the desk was ringing, nobody answered and nobody came. I decided to have a Quick Look around the hotel to find someone, but unfortunately no result. Staying in the middle of the lobby shouting hello was not the best idea, but the only one after a 7 hour drive from Paris. After 5 other minutes I left to see near the elevators, this is when I decided to go somewhere else. But at this moment a guy showed up in the back office. I know it was a little office at the back as the door was open all the time and I checked on the evacuation floor plan if there was another entry to that office — there wasn’t. The guy came to the desk looking sleepy, even though me shouting hello, never waked him. I asked for the parking, the check in was done but in a very unhappy way, almost rude way…. I was tired so we left. We asked for some directions to the city center and a quick bite, he just told us to go straight…. We had a meeting at 6:15 am so at 5:50 I was a the desk to check out. A nice gentleman unfortunately not speaking English tried his best to help me. So I decided to explain him my problem from the evening before. Using my translator we agreed that that was not a way to do a check in. He called someone and asked me to wait. I thought another person (manager was on the way to help me). I was very surprised when the same guy showed up (the guy from the check in). He came to the desk and said; “what is the problem?!” So I explained that I told my experience with him to his colleague and was not happy about how we were treated the night before. To what he responded: “you told my colleague I was sleeping?” And I said “no, I said you looked sleepy”. As the time was passing by, I told I will came back from my meeting and we will talk about all this but now I am late. So I said let me pay for the room and I will pay for the parking when I come back around 11-12 (check out is at 12). He told me to pay for both now and I said that I have the room till 12 so if I want to pay later for the parking I should be able too. He was not happy about that. I asked to pay half and half with two cards for the room. My friend was paying for his part and I was for myself. The guy said it is not possible. I asked, why? The system should let you pay in different ways (cash, card, 2 cards…) he said no and added: “it is not bazar here.!” I was shocked. I know that Accor hotels work on Opera, and even if not all of the systems allows you to split a bill. I am a hospitality worker too. That’s being said I was getting late for my meeting. So I said that I will be paying when I come back later. I have never seen such un unprofessional behavior!!! I came back at 11:30 a lady was at the desk, I told everything and she said nothing can be done about this but she can offer us a coffee…… from the vending machine in the lobby. I paid for the room and the parking. Of course she said I can pay with to different cards. So I did and left. Worse hotel experience. I understand it is a Mercure but still I was there for a meeting tired after a long drive and treated very poorly in this hotel. The room is very very hot as well.

I dropped a mail on same day, as I was not satisfied with the reception, still do not have a feedback. Main reason was that I wanted to upgrade my stay, not only in regard to my "Gold-Member" Ship, but also to check a extension. The answers I got were not satisfying and in opposite to the availability on the APP. Nevertheless overall staff was nice and offers in the Bar/Restaurant kind. Otto

Staff insisted on 3pm check in time and let us wait 20 mins in the lobby. Room was definitely available. Unfriendly check in which made the stay unpleasant.

Room from the eighties. Bathtub is dangerous to get in and out of. Lightbulb missing. No pressure on the hot water in the shower. Luckily the beds were great and cleaning lady did a good job. As mentioned before, breakfast was great.
