Safe choice, but beware the top floor!

Standard Ibis and nothing extraordinary about it. Very helpful and chatty crew at the reception, nice renovated room on the top floor.. and everything seemed to be great until the evening. It so happens, there are some air conditioning engines on the roof and our room was literally below one of those. Vibration and jet engine-like sound were too much for me and at 11PM we changed the room, 1st floor, not renovated yet, but at least quiet. Breakfast basic, but that was expected. Location really good for exlporing the amazing city of Coimbra!

Plenty of roadworks

Difficult to access/find due to enormous roadworks outside hotel [which we were not prior informed] causing severe delays. Receptionist did guide us in following distressed phone call. Room was small though was quiet. Breakfast was adequate.
