In need of a better door(man!)

My compact double room suffered from a very slow draining shower. This resulted in an unsatisfactory stop start shower! The modest room was furnished with a massive TV that covered half the large mirror. The room was only just massive enough for a short staying single traveller with lots of luggage. Remarkably, the doorman would not open the front door widely so I could easily enter the property, but the receptionist did when I was leaving. They were also very inflexible about an early check in and then proceeded to try to overcharge me for my stay. NB the hotel does not afford a lift.

was disappointed on arrival to find there was no lift on the premises as I did not notice this highlighted anywhere when booking so had to carry my case and bags up 2 flights of stairs although was offered assistance at reception. Bed was quite uncomfortable and provided little support / rather old TV had no 'guide' to inform of available programs. Spoke to reception on day 2 and was moved to another room with a better TV (still no program guide) & another uncomfortable bed ! Breakfast was a bit frugal - machine coffee was disgusting and undrinkable - asked for fruit tea but there was none on day 1 however was supplied day 2 - thanks ! - would have liked more fresh fruit ! Bathroom toiletries were nice.
