Everyone was kind and helpful from the checkin to the checkout! The building is gorgeous and the rooms were very cozy and clean! Guest services were very kind and so quick to help. What a beautiful location in such a beautifully, walkable city!

Spring break wanted to take my children for a couples days to Boston. I remembered The Copley Plaza because my parents once stayed there when they visited to me in Boston. Unfortunately my family had a terrible experience. Thus far in less than 24 hours every time we leave the room we need to go to the front desk because our key stops working. After a long day with two small children the third time we tried to enter the elevator to our room again key card not working. Went to the front desk not happy and instead of being apologetic for my 1000 dollars Kayla the assistant manager suggested maybe I should check out with my two children. Because I was tired of going to the front desk every single time I left the room after spending my 1000 dollars? How obscene. If anything she should apologize for the absurd inconvenience. Do not stay here. Especially with a family. Honestly trying to understand how Fairmont can employ suck rude and anti family employees. Disgusting and an embarrassment for America.

Upon arrival, we were graciously greeted at the desk, but that was about the extent of our satisfaction with our experience. We requested one hour early check in, but never received any response. Once we were checked in, and arrived at our room, somebody’s bags were already in our room. According to the concierge, the bags were belonging to the guests that previously stayed in that room. My wife had to sit in the hallway, while we waited for the issue to be resolved. To start, not the experience I would expect for the caliber of your hotel. Sunday morning, we were awakened by a knock on our door from housekeeping staff assuming who stated they were told we had checked out. We had not checked out; we had just woken up; this was disruptive and a bit surprising given the caliber of your hotel. Upon check out, the desk attendant could not figure out how to process my Fairmont gift card. We spent nearly 25 minutes at the front desk attempting to properly check out of the hotel. The initial response I got from the desk attendant was unacceptable, and the manager on staff had to be brought into resolve the issue. Again, not the experience I would expect. Finally, at 10:10 AM there was at least a 20 minute wait for breakfast. Tables were not being cleared, nobody could sit at the bar to have a coffee, and after about 20 minutes, we decided to leave and check out of the hotel. I had to forgo a $25 lounge credit as part of my reservation, because we simply didn’t have the time to wait for breakfast, to even wait for something as simple as a cup of coffee. We were told we had to wait. As we left, we saw that those tables still hadn’t been cleared and there were still several more people still waiting to have something as simple as breakfast. to be quite honest, we went next-door to a different establishment to get a very prompt, coffee and breakfast. We are frequent visitors to Boston, and have stayed at hotels adjacent to your establishment. This was our first time experiencing the Fairmont, and it certainly was not in alignment with the experience we would expect from your hotel. Quite honestly, the entire experience was really no different than a standard chain hotel. Again, I felt compelled to share this feedback. It was a truly disappointing experience for our time spent in Boston.

I have stayed here many times while visiting my brother in Boston. I loved to treat him to drinks at the Oak Bar and challenge him to a game of scrabble in the Gold lounge. The hotel is exquisitely beautiful, staff are warm and kind and always made us feel like it was their privilege to have us as guests. When my brother passed unexpectedly in March I returned to the Copley and was comforted by the surroundings and the wonderful staff. Special thanks to Sophie in Fairmont Gold for scanning photos for me, and for your compassion. You won't find a hotel with better staff or a better dog ( love Cori ) in the Boston area.
