I have used Novotel brand since many years in different location, like Colombia, Peru, Zurich. From my opinion Novotel have reduced the quality of this brand on the past 3 years, it is like to say that Novotel is living a identity crisis, is more on the direction to be a Ibis brand that a Novotel that I met many years ago. One example is that there is no minibar on the room anymore, if the guest want to have a water, chocolate etc, is necessary to go in the lobby to buy it or order the room service. The other topic is how to pay the bill, as I use to travel by business I have to proceed with my expenses report, for that I would prefer to have only one invoice/bill paid on the check-out with my stay in the room and consumption, but now it is necessary to pay the room in advance which means obligate to have 2 invoices (similar Ibis and not as Novotel was in the past). On this stay in Bogotá, the bathroom odor exhaust system was to noisy, I requested to fix, but no result.
