I am an Accor Gold member and have been staying at Accor hotels for many years. My understanding is that a Gold membership benefit is a room upgrade if available. My room was on the 12th floor of the Pullman International Cairns. This floor is not renovated so do not consider this an upgrade. My collegue who is a silver accor member had a room on floor 5 in a renovated room. If a higher floor is considered an upgrade, then my preference would be a lower floor. The old rooms are tired, musty, uncomfortable and have no couch. I have stayed at this hotel often and may consider other options in Cairns in the future.

Room 301 is in an extremely noisy position. In the bathroom if you use the shower you then have water flowing through the bathroom past the toilet to the basin, accident waiting to happen. No coffee pods in the room and the coffee sachets were old and the coffee inside was mouldy due to the drawer being damp, sugar couldn’t be taken out of sachets due to swelling in the damp. The hotel across the road is a so much better experience.

Well positioned in walking distance to the esplanade, shops, eateries and marina. Staff are always friendly and professional and go above and beyond to make your stay special. Rooms are an excellent size with well appointed amenities, large bathroom, pod coffee machine, and an awesome pillow selection.
