A quick overnight trip, always lovely to have a great well appointed facility with clean spacious rooms, comfortable bed and amenities. Friendly staff made every aspect easy.

A little underwhelming

Staff who greeted us were great (but we did have to prompt them to tell us about the club Sofitel included in our room). Got to the room and it honestly smelt like farts. Sprayed perfume and left for a while. Had to wait quite a while at the bar to get drinks. Club Sofitel was not what was advertised! We were expecting chef made canapés and we got a bowl of pasta salad and antipasto. Would have also thought dietary reqs would have been considered a bit more for an 5 star hotel. And a very limited drinks selection. Decor was lovely, and bed was super comfy. All in all, pretty flat about the stay and probably would go back

The two nigthts at the Sofitel was to be a well earned reward for us after a long and difficult house shift. They were not a great experience. We were offered no assistanace with takiiing bags to our rooms. At dinner on the first night we were shown to our table and completely ignored for 20 minutesBefore I could ask for a wine list. (realising this long delay, we were not charged for these). My main of six scallops cost over $60 which is over the top e ven by Sofitel syandards. On the second day, we left early for the day, left the "make up,room sign" on and camr home at 4.00pm for a rest to find the room had not been made up. After waiting forover an hour, noone had told us it was ready and again we had to ASK ABOUT IT. wE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO sOFITEL wELLINGTON AGAIN
