The hotel was positioned in a prime location and offered excellent dining options, although it was noted that the room cleanliness did not meet expectations. Regrettably, the SPA facilities did not meet the standards typically associated with a 5-star establishment, and the level of service provided was subpar. Despite the high cost of accommodation, the service quality did not align with the anticipated level of excellence. Upon lodging a complaint with management regarding the unsatisfactory service, no remedial action was taken to address the issue. We will never be back to this hotel again

Subject: Feedback to Improve Guest Experience at [Raffels Makkah] Dear [Accor Management], I am a frequent guest of your hotel and find the overall experience generally positive. The facilities are excellent: housekeeping is superb, elevators are efficient, carpets are new, and the food is tasty. Your front desk staff is mostly helpful, however, there are opportunities for improvement. Areas for Improvement * Guest Recognition and Benefits: As a Diamond member of the All.Accor program, I was disappointed that my loyalty status was not acknowledged. Additionally, opportunities for room upgrades went unoffered, even when I was willing to pay. * Pre-Payment and Extra Documentation: Requiring pre-payment for all services and having guests sign additional minibar policies creates an atmosphere of distrust, unlike most five-star hotels. This feels more like a budget hotel than a luxury experience. * Overzealous Restaurant Check-In: The incident where we were stopped before entering the restaurant with an additional guest was embarrassing. A more discreet approach would have been appreciated. * Inconsistent Treatment: While some staff members are excellent, the overall treatment feels inconsistent. It shouldn't depend on knowing specific individuals to receive quality service. Suggestions * Train staff to recognize and offer benefits to loyalty program members. This enhances the value of the program and generates customer goodwill. * Streamline check-in/out procedures. Trust guests with credit card guarantees and minimize additional paperwork. * Provide a more welcoming restaurant experience. Handle extra guests discreetly. * Ensure consistent guest treatment. All guests deserve excellent service, regardless of personal connections. I appreciate that the hotel was not fully booked during my stay. It makes the lack of upgrades or flexibility on late checkout feel like a missed opportunity. My goal is to offer constructive feedback. I truly enjoy the hotel but believe addressing these areas will significantly enhance the experience for all guests. One of the best views of Kaaba

The hotel's prime location, with its breathtaking view of the Kaaba, offered a soul-stirring backdrop for our pilgrimage. The proximity to the mosque made our daily prayers and visits effortless, allowing us to immerse ourselves fully in the spiritual ambiance. Having stayed at another hotel nearby last year, the service at Raffles also surpassed our expectations. The staff went above and beyond to cater to our needs, ensuring we felt welcomed and cherished throughout our stay. From the refreshing Zam Zam water to the delectable assortment of sweets and fruits, every detail was thoughtfully curated to enhance our experience, albeit consistency on these perks could be improved. We love that Karak and Moroccan mint tea were available for breakfast/sahur. It’s to be noted that the range of food served for sahur was better than the usual offering for breakfast. Hope the former could be maintained though. While our initial room boasted a magnificent view of the Haram, the switch to a Panoramic Kaaba view room proved to be a minor hiccup. Despite a communication breakdown between staff teams resulting in repeated checkout inquiries, the attentive staff promptly remedied the situation and facilitated our requested room change. The Panoramic Kaaba view room is worth every penny especially particularly for my mother, whose mobility was limited during our trip. Equipped with an in-room speaker, the Panoramic Kaaba view room allowed my mother to engage in prayer effortlessly while gazing upon the majestic Kaaba. Overall, our stay at Raffles was nothing short of extraordinary. With its unparalleled views, impeccable service, and commitment to guest comfort, it truly embodies the essence of hospitality. We look forward to returning for another spiritual retreat in the near future.
