Good value, spacious rooms, great location

Close to old town and station, parking (at a fee) is good, the rooms are large enough for two people with suitcases. Comfortable beds, good towels, very quiet. Hanging space and plenty of power points. Bathroom a bit small but adequate. I needed another pillow and the cleaning lady was very kind and helpful. The reception staff need a reminder about being more friendly and acknowledging clients who are standing before them. A good hotel and great value.

internet connection was very poor and factiliy inside room were missing (e.g., iron, water bottle, mini bar)

Room was nice and clean. Did not like because we had a fire alarm on 11th of March and nobody told us what was the issue afterwards. We were out in pijamas in low C degrees temperature. Also one fire escape door was locked and we could not use it.

Fire alarm in middle of the night

I was woken up by fire alarm going off at 23:35 (it may have been sooner, as I didn't comprehend what was happening at first). Had to stand outside with the other guests for 12 minutes while fire brigade checked the building. No one seemed to be in charge. It would have been good if the hotel Fire Marshal had worn some form of identification (i.e. a fluorescent and/or reflective tabard with IBIS Fire Marshal written on it). People didn't know what to do or where to stand, so they collected around the hotel doors. A couple even went into the garage to retrieved their car! Someone said it was safe to reenter the building, but it wasn't clear who this person was! The alarm was disorientating. Instead of a buzzer and the words "Fire Alarm, Leave The Build" being sounded, it would be better if the alarm said "Fire Alarm, This Is Not A Drill, Leave the Building". The Fire Exit signs need to be clearer and more obvious, especially on the stairs and doors. No one seemed to know what had caused the false alarm, either when we reentered the building or the following day. Needless to say I had a bad night's sleep, which negatively affected the rest of my visit to Germany. It could have been worse. There could have been a fire and my not responding quickly to the alarm could have been the difference between life and death. The experience has not put me off stopping at the hotel again, but it will be a consideration if I book in the future.
