It seems like a hotel running about to go bankrupt. Only one elevator working, valet and door staff are hit or miss. Only one had any kind of identification that would tell me he worked there. Staff is a bit terse and seem stressed. The spa is not a spa, that's a gym with a steam room and a sauna. The art is lovely, the room was nice, but no fridge and ice had to be brought everyday. That's a pain. I was supposed to get a $40 credit every day for my stay but was only given 2 of 3, and there was no free tasting every night like the website said. Just lackluster when it could be so much more, with just a little more attention to detail.

Good location, but tired hotel

We last stayed here in 2019. At that time the hotel was still relatively fresh and the rooms were great. Things have gone downhill since then. The night we arrived our air conditioning did not work. The front desk did what they could, but it did not work. After two calls, their solution was to give us a fan (since the windows don't open). I would have thought they would have moved us to a different room. We also called about dead light bulbs in the bathroom and the misfunctioning TV. Only the lightbulbs were addressed. The outlets in the night stands are so worn that our devices couldn't charge. The overall shabbiness of the room and furnishings is disappointing, to say the least. The hotel restaurant, The Counting House, was also not up to our expectations from our previous visits. The menu was nowhere near as interesting as those we had experienced before. Breakfast was a disaster! The kitchen was clearly understaffed, as meals were served two at a time over an extended period of time. It took over an hour to get our food. We had the sense that they had not staffed up for the various events in the area, including Full Frame Film Festival and the Dreamville Festival.

Great, but some room for improvement

We stayed at 21c as part of a wedding group. Below are the compliments of the staff, and some areas that need improvement: Compliments: - The valet staff outside the hotel were very wonderful, kind and helpful. They even helped us out with parking options to save money. - 21c staff overall were kind and made us feel very welcome. - Food was incredible! Need for improvement: - We had to waste so much food because we weren't aware that we had to ask for a mini fridge. - The billing situation was a bit of a mess. We were billed on different days for different amounts. We asked the front desk staff and while it seemed to make sense at the time, later when we looked back at the charges it didn't. - We had asked for a late checkout twice which was confirmed. On the day of our departure, a staff member knocked on our door asking us why we were still there. - It was unclear if our room was going to be cleaned each day. I understand that since the covid pandemic hotels do not always clean every single day, but every hotel I've been in since have a little note stating that we have to call if we want towels and sheets changed. Some of our group's rooms were cleaned, while some were not. Perhaps a note in the room would be helpful.
